I mean, an Indian league without East Bengal and Mohun Bagan has so far done well in one and half seasons. East Bengal and Mohun Bagan are slowly both becoming the Leeds United of Indian football and sadly eventually there will be some acceptance (still hate Atletico de Kolkata's brand).
There should be no real second division yet... no pro/rel (which I assume will not happen anyway if IMG-Reliance/STAR Sports get there way). After (or even before) the "merger" a lot of work needs to be done to fix the state associations and leagues. All of them are "corrupt" and are not fulfilling the potential they can, even the Mizoram Premier League seems a bit worse this season.
A much more sober launch by OZONE FC than what we saw from KBFC or even BFC for that matter. Although their current squad looks like a Bangalore XI made up of ex-HAL and other such types.. they all have some I-Lesgue experience and could easily do well in 2nd Division. They will take some time to fulfill the AFC Club licensing criteria though. Interesting to see how this unfolds....seems everyone is opting for slow & steady after watching KBFC
@arsenalfan700, you have rightly painted the 'farce' bidding scenario. Something on that lines is eminently possible.
EB/ MB are NOT Leeds United of Indian football. How dare you say that. That is the problem with armchair football fans sitting in some faraway land and visiting in cloud only. You should have witnessed the I-league celebrations of MB (it is well documented, so must have registered to you) or be in Kolkata during Sk Kamal Tournament (fans were much more enthusiastic about EB's play than ADK' matches in ISL -- and mind it, during peak ISL season too). That the two clubs are failing their fans is a different story.
Nobody gives ADK two hoots in Kolkata in spite of their marketing efforts. The IPL folk only go to the stadium. EB/ MB are in the genes of Bengal. Make no mistake about that.
I don't think you understood what I meant by the Leeds United of Indian football... nor do you know much about Leeds United. But okay, how dare me for making fun of such super historical clubs.

... And that hint of sarcasm in your last post: it is not tolerated
