A solitary goal from Ferran Corominas allowed the Home Team to register a hard fought win. East Bengal was abysmal in going forward but the defence was rock solid barring just once.

Mex striker is coming the next week. I feel that will also be not enough. We need a good Indian striker too.

    Match analysis!

We lost by the solitary goal from Coro in 75', it was a hard fought win for FC GOA, East Bengal played with 2 foreigners in the first half, Borja and Kassim, in 4-4-2 formation where as Goa played with their full strength. It was only FC Goa in the first half, full of attacking, but Salam-Borja duo and some excellent saves by Dagar kept the East Bengal goal safe.

In second half, Amna and Acosta came with other young players, EB started to take control of the game there on. Acosta-Mehtab duo played in the vital stopper back role in the place of Borja-Salam. Mummun, Yami, Puia were also introduced in the places of Fanai, Bidyasagar. East Bengal conceded by a return ball in 75', the ball was saved by Dagar in first attempt. No positive attack by Eas tBengal through out the whole match. Borja and Dagar had a very good game.

EB was holding out fine, they conceded only after Acosta came in. Had he played full time, EB would've taken in two goals of his quota.

East Bengal announce Subhas Bowmick’s exit

The Red and Golds have formally announced the exit of Technical Director Subhas Bhowmick…

Subhas Bhowmick has officially handed in his papers, foregoing his role as 'Technical Director' at East Bengal, the club announced through a statement on Tuesday.

The former player and coach of East Bengal was recalled by the Kolkata giants on 12 March earlier this year. Despite his introduction into the setup, the Khalid Jamil coached-side could only manage a fourth-place finish in the I-League and ended runners-up in the Super Cup.

The release sent in by the club stated, "East Bengal Club (“Club”) would like to officially communicate that Mr. Subhas Bhowmick has officially resigned from the services of the Club. Club had appointed Mr.Bhowmick as its Technical Director for the football season 2018-19, however, a few weeks ago the AIFF (All India Football Federation) made it clear that the Technical Directors also needed to hold the ‘A’ license to continue in their present positions.

Under this scenario, the Club had no option but to avail the services of licensed coaches for the ensuing I- League. Keeping in mind the long-standing association and value brought by Mr Bhowmik, the Club had approached him to take on the role of a Technical Advisor to the Club, which he refused to take
up on a professional basis but has assured the Club that he will advise whenever the need arises."

After a multi-crore financial takeover of the football team by Quess Corp in July, Bhowmick continued with the club with Bastob Roy appointed as head coach for the Calcutta Football League. The Red and Golds did not manage to defend their title, losing out to arch-rivals Mohun Bagan.

Bhowmick said, "It has been a wonderful and inspiring journey at East Bengal Club and even though I am leaving, I only wish the club success in all endeavours ahead.”

"East Bengal club recognizes Mr.Subhas Bhowmick as a club legend, an icon who has contributed to the Club’s success both as a player and as a coach continuously over the last 49 years and wishes him the best of health and success for the future," remarked club General Secretary Kalyan Majumdar.

For the I-League 2018-19, former Real Madrid Castilla coach Alejandro Menendez has already been appointed head coach. The team is likely to travel to Malaysia for a three-week camp before the season starts in the last week of October.
