The Indian National Football Team arrived here in Guwahati on Friday to play International Friendly match against Malaysian Football Team, the match will be played on November 13, at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium.
The newly appointed Chief Coach of the team Savio Medeira said “The boys have arrived at a very short notice but they all are raring to go and are looking forward to play the match against Malaysian team.”
“Though they (Malaysia) are higher ranked, but ranking doesn’t make any difference to us, we will play to our potential and would be playing nothing less than a win,” he added.
“It is good for us that we are getting to play matches against the stronger sides, which I think would be beneficial for us in the preparations for the upcoming SAFF Cup. It will prove out to be an add-on experience for us,” star Midfielder Jewel Shaik Raja quipped.
The Team India would resume their practice session tomorrow.
The Indian National Team is scheduled to play two International Friendly matches with Malaysian team on November 13, in Guwahati and on November 16, in Kolkata at the Salt Lake Stadium.
