I dont recall winning Asia Cup as its winner qualifies for World Cup - must have been Asia Champions Trophy. we have been to world cup in the past also with womens team. Junior level medal should not be taken seriously-its only a small pool. of players within an age limit. Senior level where talented players from all age groups compete is the true test and we are failing there. We got Asia Cup from 28th October in Japan. That will show us where we stand now.
Canada host India in a first meeting between the two nations. A World Group place in 2018 awaits the winner.
The Canadians will be keen to bounce back from the disappointment of a
decisive fifth rubber defeat to Great Britain in this year's first
round, with Denis Shapovalov defaulted after hitting the chair umpire
with a ball smacked away in frustration.
India, meanwhile, will look to continue the momentum from two
straight wins in Asia/Oceania Zone Group I, with the team having already
recorded 4-1 wins over New Zealand and Uzbekistan this year. The team
is looking to end its six-year spell in the Zone Groups and take its
place among the Davis Cup elite once again.
Bad News for Indian Tennis squad as Sriram Balaji got injured. He performed admirably with Bopanna in Doubles against Uzbekistan. Either Saketh or Purav will play in Doubles while Ramkumar and Yuki in Singles.
This magnificent venue Northlands Coliseum (formerly known as Rexall Place) used to organise NHL matches. It will be amazing to see Tennis played here. Hopefully India will get crowd support.
Deepu,There is no obvious reason bro. However,Many Top players have decided to skip this Tournament probably, to avoid Mental Fatigue after World Championships.
Another reason could be that another Super Series,Japan Super Series is starting from 19th September. He is scheduled to play there.
So probably, considering that the Final of this Tournament is scheduled to take place on 17th and Japan Super Series is starting from 19th so it would have been very Tiring and Exhausting for him to play In Two back to back Tournaments within such short span of time.

Somdev helping out with India team.
Good draw for India. Saketh Myneni dropped on fitness concerns. All hopes on Ramkumar to win first match against Brayden Schnur.
