• HOLY COW! WHAT HELL OF A I_LEAGUE GOING ON THIS YEAR. THE QUALITY OF GOALS SCORED ARE JUST MIND_BOGGLING!!

Its just a wacky season. You lose a match 5-0 then go on to win 5-1 the next game

if you watch the position of mumbai fc gk...why would he stand at the bar and arrange the wall??? its poor refereeing or unfair play????

Ah shit how was I oblivious to that. The Mumbai keeper had a right to arrange the wall. That referee was crap. I bet that reff was a born Bagan fan.

hahahaha seriously ? Are you guys completely oblivious of the rules ? The referee had already blown his whistle so active play was going on...Sunil had every right to take the shot. Such goals are very common in European football. I remember Thierry Henry scoring in similar circumstances against Chelsea and Daniel De Rossi scoring against Juventus in 2008/09 Serie A season.

Me and Shankar are quiet aware that the ref blew the whistle. Are you oblivious to that. Also just because the ref blew the whistle does not mean it should count. The ref made an idiotic move of allowing it to count as Mumbai was not ready and they should have been given more time. That my friend is in the rule book.

It is neither the referees nor the opponent team's concern if the opponent 'keeper takes too long to organize his wall. Again, go to youtube and search for Daniel De Rossi's goal against Juventus in 2008/09 Serie A season. This goal was by the book and neither the ref nor Sunil was wrong. Is it unfair , yes. Is it illegal. Definitely no.
• How do you know how long they took. The video just shows the ref moving back and Sunil hitting a beautiful free kick into the side netting. The ref should have waited. I doubt it takes so long just to make a wall.

Some points from HAL Vs Churchill Bros. game which I saw in the stadium.

HAL 0 - 1 Churchill

Firstly, the environment was fantastic. There were some 2000 fans attending, Xavier fans came with drums and all. And playing surface is very good.

I thought Churchill would easily win, but HAL put a very good teamwork. Initially it was all Churchill. Churchill Left flank is very strong and mostly used for attacks. Dika (L. Ralte) is used as an attacking winger there, he cuts in a lot and takes his shots, and he is supported by Antun Kovacic, who plays behind Dika and goes to defensive roles when needed, he doesnt run much but always is in the right position, distributes well.
Right side is not that impressive, with Dias mainly trying to give his trademark crosses and was being stopped many times.
Opara is mainly the target man, but was fantastically silenced by HAL defenders, mainly Femi, who was winning everything.
Henry played behind Opar, had a good game and scored the goal from a Dias freekick. Churchill defence was ok with Gouramangi and Ravanan but the HAL wingers were cutting in from time to time, if there were quality strikers they could have scored.

HAL, after initial attacks from Churchill did attack them but no result. Later after conceding they attacked well in fact last 15 minute it was all HAL. They even scored but an offside, very marginal.
Players who did well -
Femi - Captain, rock solid in defense, won most challenges, stopped many shots. Organising the defence well, good understanding with other defenders.
Pramod - Goalie. Had few good saves. However he made a mistake in the freekick resulting in goal
Charandeep - Defender from JCT. Was very composed and hardly made any mistakes. One of the reasons why Churchill scored only 1 goal.
Vinoth Kumar - Left winger from HAL. He was picked from u19 competition and I can tell u, that this guy can make it big. Was fanatastic, Antun struggled against him. Good dribbling skills.
Malem - Right Winger, good attacking skill, provided skills and assist in the goal which was ruled out.

Flops -
Hamza - as usual
Aleksandro - Even worse than Hamza. That says it all.
James Singh - I am being harsh here, but he messed up few chances.

If HAL plays like this, they will surely avoid relegation

Good review :D

Both HAL and Air India have started well this season...and Pailan Arrows wont be relegated. Relegation battle will be interesting this year, Chirag Kerala is in some trouble.

thanks...review is bit biased mainly on HAL (whom I follow) and Ex-Arrows (whom I love)...and everything based on memory
