The political and vested business interests have become too powerful in our sports bodies ,we really need government to enable RTI and proper framework for sport federations
@deepakc ; Sports Associations are not part of Government or Sports Ministry. They are independent Non-Government Autonomous Bodies answerable to International Association. Any interference by Government will result in suspension. even the elections or any postings are done in AIFF case in front of FIFA representative. If Government introduce RTI or framework, that amounts to interference by Government in the working of autonomous independent body and will result in suspension of India in any participation in the sport. Just because politicians are present in Sports bodies, people have this misconception that Government is running the association. It is not. Batra is industrialist. So is Praful Patel and Srinivasan. Big Businessman are running Sports Association with the help of ex-Bureaucrats, ex-lawyers, Media personalities, Army officers. They use their influence to move things around. Even if one retires, he will pass the baton to next generation of same thinking people.
