I read a sportskeeda article where someone at the forum was quoted as saying that the game everyday model works because then everyone knows that at 7pm everyday, if they go to STAR Sports 2 or whatever, there is a game on. It creates familiarity and stuff. That is true and all but that works best for the IPL, not football.
You can do the same thing with games on the weekends. Have a game Friday at 7pm, Saturday afternoon game 4:30, Saturday night game at 7:00pm (half-hour ISL show could be done in between!), and then Sunday afternoon/night game to conclude the round!!! It would make the weekend all about the ISL, help build up hype all week to an exciting game, people would be out of work or school and be able to watch or go to the stadium... it would be perfect!!!
Why not? Friday can be used as a "Match of the Week" type thing. Only game on that day, no Premier League or any other competition on, the weekend has just started. You could do a lot with a Friday night game.
4:30 would be good as the match would end at 6:30. Between 6:30 and 7:00 you can have a post/pre game ISL show and in that time people watching can do whatever they need to do to refresh themselves before the next match while also getting analysis before the next match and reaction from the previous one.
Also having the 1-2-1 model every week uses all the three days of the weekend and allows for the maximum "hype" of the round. 2-2 can be done as well but I feel 1-2-1 does more.

There are only 4 matches per round. They can hold matches at 6PM and 8PM on Saturday and Sunday and finish off the round.
All 14 rounds can be completed in 14 weeks.
