Countries under India are either Asia, Caribbean or Oceania countries. Those Asian countries under India are unlikely to get any valuable FIFA points in world cup qualification. But some of these Oceania and Carribean islands may get some points and overcome India in ranking. I expect India to fall in late 180s in few months time.

Is this what you wanted :
    The IPL-ISL Link

The ISL cannot escape the influence of the IPL. The use of fireworks in every match and the recurrence of percussion heavy instruments evoke memories of the IPL nights. What also becomes a strong parallel is the showcasing of celebrities connected with the teams. Abhishek Bachchan, MS Dhoni and Dhanush in Chennaiyin FC's garbs were recurrent objects of interest for the broadcasters. How club owners would look on from the sides at their teams’ performances is not a unique ISL phenomenon .

However these repeated shots of the superstar owners provide rude reminders of how football in India attempts to feed off the popularity of people famous in different fields. In most countries it is the opposite case where being associated with a football team is expected to boost the popularity of a person. One longs for when such a scenario will take place with regard to Indian football. Perhaps then the country will be on the road to be a footballing powerhouse.

Who the fuck wrote that shit? Probably someone who looks at people like the Qatar or Roman and how no one knew them probably before they came into football but congrats, you just joined something already very well established and very well supported and organized with good quality.

We see attempts to feed off the popularity of famous people in different fields all the time. Arsenal keep posting videos of an NBA basketball player coming to the Emirates or this superstar actor (who is American or something else) while training with the Giants when on pre-season in New York. That is feeding off different people in order to increase your popularity and exposure.

And fuck it, I will say it, this is something that I see all the time in American sports as well. Hell, MLS does it all the time, whether it is inviting Eli Manning to a Red Bulls game or giving Mariano Rivera, a legend in New York, the first season ticket in New York City FC history.

Look, as long as the fans don't go to stadiums dressed in shirts with bloody Sachin's face printed on it but instead a jersey representing the team then we are doing things right. Using something famous in another industry to boost the popularity of another is not uncommon.
