Decent Result but Defensive Lapses and Undeserving junior players(Gurinder and Manpreet Junior) cost us the game.We were the better team and deserved to win..
In my opinion we change our squad too much.As soon as our squad starts to click,we change the team.
In this team also we have picked probably the worst players from our Junior World Cup winning team like Gurwinder, Manpreet Junior whereas players like Gurjant Singh,Armaan Qureshi,Dipsan Tirkey,Simranjeet Singh have been neglected.
Moreover,I don't know why is there a need to play these youngsters in such tournaments (Where high profile teams are there) specially when we have quality bunch of 30 odd players excluding these youngsters.Its beyond my understanding.
I saw the match for few minutes. 1) Akashdeep looked classy but SV Sunil, Mandeep looked out of sorts. They both miffed up easy chances. 2) Who was the guy deputed to stop the ball during Penalty Corner routine? Absolutely rubbish, cannot even stop the feeble push. 3) Why cant they give some rest to Sreejesh and sardar singh and find Juniors to play atleast in place of them? Afterall we need to find their replacemnts in 1-2 years.

Mandeep has also been like this.He is similar to Edinson Cavani i.e He is a good instinctive striker but misses more often then not when he has time to think(one on one).Similarily,Mandeep is good inside the opponents circle but India now is playing counter attackick style i.e when India gets the ball,Indian Forwards should be having extreme speed and Dribbling skills so we can enter the opponents circle and cause trouble but unfortunately he doesn't have both.
Sunil had an off day and so did Rupinder and Mandeep along with Gurwinder and Manpreet Junior.
Results:-(Womens) Both Dipika and Joshna have reached the Finals.This is the first time India both Indian girls will be contesting the Finals at Asian level.India has never won a Gold in Asian Championship so the History is already created as we are assured of both Gold and Silver.
Mens Sourav Ghousal has reached the Finals.India"s best result previous to this was semi-finals .So,History created here as well.
India lost to Australia 1-3.It was a very even game.India could and should"ve won this match.
Partiality in umpiring and defensive lapses cost us.It was a very close match and it confirms what i had said 2 years back i.e India will be able to beat any team on any day.The gap and consistency of Indian team is improving day by day,so much so that even with these players(B to C team of India) we gave a genuine fight to the Australians. Surely,2018 World Cup onwards, i see India winning Medals at the likes of World Championships and Olympics.Fingers crossed...
Thapa, Vikas, Bidhuri, Sangwan, Amit Phangal has so far reached Quarter Finals. Amit Phangal in 49 kilos category is a new name. Good Luck for top 6 position.

We Completely dominated them.Had 65% possesion to 35%.Had 22 circle penetration to 6 and had 12 shots to 4.We absolutely romped them.
