Guys, Sudirman Cup is going on(Badminton).

Here,5 matches are played between the nation's to decide the Match.(Men's and Women's Singles, Men's and Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles)

Yesterday,India lost 1-4 to Denmark with only Sindhu winning women's singles. However,
New mixed doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnapa and Satwik Reddy(he is just 16 yrs)playing their first match Together gave a very tough fight to 2012 Olympics bronze Medallist and lost in 3 sets 21-17 in deciding set after leading 17-16 in the same set.

Also, relatively new womens Doubles pair of Sikki Reddy and Ashwini Ponnapa also lost in 3 sets to Current(2016) Olympic Silver Medalist (22-20 in deciding set)

Today,India even our Mixed Doubles and Women's Doubles pair beat World class opponents from Indonesia.

Ashwini and Satwik beat Olympics Gold Medalist (Men). However, his partner was different but still and Excellent performance from us Considering this is Ashwini and Satwik's first Tournament and Satwik is just 16 yrs.

Later,Aswinini and Sikki(Women's Doubles) beat world no. 13 pair.

India is now starting to produce World class Players in Doubles as well which is extremely good.
In my opinion,Mixed Doubles(Ashwini and Satwik) and Women's Doubles pair, (Ashwini and Sikki) have the potential to win Medals at Global events like World Championship and Olympics) which was earlier restricted to just our Singles player which is great News.

Men's Doubles pair of Satwik(16 yrs) and Chirag(19 yrs) also has the potential but they still need 2-3 yrs to realise their true potential.

I can see Our Mixed Doubles and Women's Doubles pair to be rated among the best in the World and Winning Medals at major Tournaments.

In the end,I feel I also should get some credit for recommending Satwik as a player to watch out for.

@Bad ;  I am a bit out of Badminton theese days s some questions for you. What happened to Pradnya Gadre? She is also a very good Womens Double player. Sikki is also from Gopichand Academy? Jwala Gutta out nowadays?

Munna,Jwala has retired (Thankfully). Most overrated Indian Athlete along with Sania Mirza (Overrated but Not more than Jwala) in my opinion.

Pradnya is an okayish player in my opinion, not World Class.

Sikki is quite good and Talented. She and Ashwini will complement each other perfectly. Both of them are fit(Ashwini played two matches within a span of 3 hours on both the days so far, shows how fit she is).Sikki is a good overall player and has excellent Racket Manouverability. Her Smash on the the other hand is not as Lethal as Aswinini's.She can work on it.Sikki and Ashwini have the capability of being a Top 5 pair in the World. They already have reached 28th rank after playing just 8 Tournaments which is quite awesome.

Ashwini is perhaps the most underrated Indian Athlete. She,in my opinion has the best smash in the World in Women's Doubles.Extremely fit and focused. She is very good looking as well which makes me wonder even more why she doesn't get the Limelight she deserves.

Hopefully now,Ashwini with both Sikki and Satwik in Mixed Doubles and Women's Doubles can Win the Global Medals and get the required Accolades which she deserves.I really Admire her...She is a World Class Player.

Fingers crossed,She Wins us Olympic and World Championship Medals.

India qualifies for Quarter Finals of Sudirman Cup after beating Indonesia 1-4.
This is an amazing achievement considering both Denmark (2nd seed), Indonesia(6th seed) were seeded higher than India (8th seed).India qualified along with Denmark.

India will now take on powerhouses China in the Quarter Finals on 26th.

Haha Kartik,I really admire and like her for her hard work and Focus without getting distracted.I genuinely feel she is a Badminton Great when it comes to Doubles.

In India,we have been lucky that during the past 20-25 years, every great we produced has achieved at the Olympics/World Stage,be it Sushil, Mary, Yogesh,Bindra, Karnam, Rathore, Sachin,Dhoni,Leander,Vijender,Saina,Sindhu etc.Only, 2 genuine greats of their respective fields are left who have not achieved what they actually deserve:-

    1)Sardar Singh(Hockey)
    2)Ashwini Ponnapa (Badminton)

I know Ashwini has a World Championship Bronze but People are so ignorant in India that they value only Olympics Medal.

Mary Kom got same fame for Winning an Olympics Bronze as she did for Winning 5 World Championship Gold Medals.

That is why I hope that Ashwini and Sardar get what they deserve that is Olympic Glory.

I can't tolerate Jwala Gutta on screen for a minute and imagine Ashwini having to practice with her day in day out. Omg, Hattsoff to Ashwini just for tolerating Jwala.
