Sorry Carbon,(I was typing my opinion here but some how sent it to you on personal message)

Bro,I rate Sardar Singh higher than Dhanraj Pillay. From 2005-2015 his importance to Indian Team was that of Sachin Tendulkar in 1990's.

He is the only World Class Player in the past 10-15 years we have produced.

From 2005-2015,apart from Sardar(Who was World Class during that time) and couple of other players who under Good category, others were quite Average players. He was the main reason why our team looked competitive.

Now also, the team has many players who come under Good Category but no-one influences the game the way Sardar does.
Hence,we have guys like Akashdeep and Harmanpreet who have the potential to become World class but currently they are not.

The reason why we are improving is because the quality of other players has improved from Average players to Good Players.

Jwala Gutta used to dictate terms to Ashwini    Maar, Jaane de, Maar. Ashwini had no voice, only teary eyes after losing the point. :p

Jwala Gutta was a very senior player. Trained from childhood as she is half chinese-so Badminton should come natural to her. In SAI academy, she learnt her skills at the same time Gopichand was growing up as  a player. Rivalry is from that time. Now there is so much factionalism in Indian Badminton. Vimal Kumar academy is on loggerheads with Gopichand academy. Who gets Government funding, whose pupils will get a chance to qualify, Badminton IPL and so on.

I hope to see Jwala as a coach.

@Bad Are you hoping Sardar and Ashwini to continue till 2020 Olympics? I am hoping medal for them next year in Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. It is unlikely that Sardar will be there in 2020 Olympics.

Sardara's Ball skills, specially Dribbling and Dodges along with his vision and passing skills makes him a World class players. He is the only Indian player(who I have seen)who can dodge past anyone even after telling him that he is going to different(Bolke dodge mar sakta hai, itni skill hai).

3-4 times,he has made the World team of the year and Considering how badly India has performed at Global events ,this is more than extraordinary.

    Now,coming to Badminton (Sudirman Cup)
India has lost (0-3) to China.(No shame in that)

Women's singles and doubles matches were not played as the match had been decided.

Again, our Mixed Doubles pair of Ashwini and Satwik Reddy gave a great fight to Chinese pair who won All England this year and lost in 3 sets taking the first set.

We lost !Men's Doubles and Singles) goes in straight games.

Our Mixed Doubles pair has shown a lot of promise and we must keep our eye on them for Future Events. They have the potential to Win Medals at Global Events.

Table Tennis league is starting from July India.Franchise based model will be followed but no Auctions for the first year. The idea is to balance every Franchise.Auctions doesn't allow this. Good quality of overseas player have agreed to participate(players ranked in and around Top 5 in Men's And Women's Singles) have also agreed to participate.

    Good Step for us.

@Carbon_14 That was 2004 Athens Olympics. Jugraj accident and then infighting in the team. Jyothikumaran brought some newcomers. Dhanraj Pillay fighting - that was a disaster Olympics.

We had a very good Womens hockey team also in that era   Mamta Kharab, Suraj Lata Devi, Pritam Rani were one of the best players. Commonwealth Gold, Asian games but then everybody retired at the same time and we declined. Now again we have some hope with new girls.

On present form, India Mens Hockey team is good enough to win Gold Medal in 2018 Asian Games and atleast Silver Medal in 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Yes Munna,It will be difficult for Sardara but he is Superfit,so I am hoping that he maintains his form and Fitness Till 2020 Olympics.
Regarding Ashwini, she is only 26-27 so she can possibly take part in 2020 and 2024(She is super fit) Olympics but 2020 Shouldn't be a problem.

Our Hockey Men's team now have the potential to win any Tournament which they enter be it Asian Games,Asia cup, Commonwealth Games,Champions Trophy or Olympics. We just need to take the final step i.e(Consistency).Our Consistency has definitely improved but just adding a little more Consistency (turning loss into draw and draws into wins)just a little bit more will make a Hockey Powerhouse(The Final level)once again.
