It is important that next generation of players come up even better then Saina and Sindhu. We just keep on celebrating and giving prizes while forgetting about coaching next generation.
Weightlifitng - factory stopped after Malleswari, Kunjarani Devi
Boxing - Vijender retired. Now what - nobody look competitve for Olympic medal
Wrestling- sushil, yogeswar are finished- now noone can win even 2 matches in world stage.
Same thing should not repeat in Badminton once Sania Sindhu fade away.

By the way, what happened to Malaysia and Indonesia ? Not many big names in Badminton coming from there now.

Munna, what you are saying is correct but Sport doesn't always work like this.

It is always Difficult to replace World class Players. One bad Tournament need not necessarily mean that it is the end of the world.

    I'll go step-by-step:-

Regarding our Badminton players Bench Strength(after Saina and Sindhu). Sindhu is just 22yrs.So she is a Youngster herself and isn't going anywhere for atleast 8-10 years.

Now in the bench strength, there are 15 players in top 100 for Men's singles and 10 players in Women's Singles.

Regarding Malaysian Strength in Badminton, they had a dismal performance this time but same Malaysia won 3 Silvers in different categories at Rio OLYMPICS.

Carolina Marin,2 time World Champion and current Olympics Champion had a bad day in the quarter Finals and lost but this doesn't mean that she has lost it all.

Similarly,Sushil and Yogesh are World class but We were on the right track and produced decent alternatives in AMIT Kumar(World Championships Silver Medalist),Narsingh(World Championships Bronze medalist) and Bajrang(World Championships Bronze Medalist) but somehow due to unforeseen reasons noone could perform.

By the way, Yogeshwar as I much as I like him has never won a World Championship Medal and Sushil also has only one Medal (although it was a Gold) but it was not the case like year after year he was doing it like Saina,Sindhu,Mary have shown. So,i still believe we have decent replacement considering the Personality and Aura of Sushil,Yogesh etc but it is not easy to find replacements for these players but we have still capable replacements in Bajrang and Vinesh.Eg)It is impossible to replace Sachin Tendulkar (because he is irreplaceable)but still guys like Rohit and Virat are as close as we can get to finding an Alternative to him.Similarly for Yogesh and Sushil I feel Bajrang and Vinesh are decent Replacement.

FUN Fact:-The lady who has won Silver Medal in Vinesh Phogat's category is the same lady who Vinesh beat 11-0 in her opening round at Rio Olympics.

Similarly, the person who has earned the Gold Medal in Bajrang's category,Bajrang lost to him 6-5 in this edition.

So ,this basically  this means that they are capable however lack Consistency. They are still young 22,23 and still have time on their side.

Btw,Sushil won his Only Medal(Gold) at World Championships when he was 27 yrs. So,Consider Bajrang already a bronze Medalist and last edition also, he reached The Bronze Medal play-off round where he lost 6-6.His opponent won the Bronze by the virtue of scoring the last points.I mean at 23 yrs old he could already have been a double World Championship Medalist.

Now,also at 23 he is a World Championship Bronze Medalist,a feat which Yogeshwar has not been able to replicate and Sushil also did it when he was 27yrs.

Regarding Vijender's replacement in boxing, these ongoing World Championships I am having decent hopes of doing well.Having seen the draw,i believe, there is a genuine chance for us to pick atleast 2-3 medals. If that happens, then it will be the best ever Championship for us which will mean we are on the right track.

Now,coming to Vijender's replacement,as of now, I feel Vikas Krishna is an able replacement. The only thing on which Vikas misses out is that Vijender has an Olympic Medal but that too,Vikas Narrowly missed out on at Rio Olympics as he reached the Quarter Finals and was one win away from a Medal. So, officially Vikas is 25 which means at next Olympics he'll be around 27-28 which is not that old.

So,we are producing decent replacement across all Sports. The only thing is that we need to Channelise them.

This year's World Championships may perhaps provide us with the likes New Vijender.Lets see.

However,Vikas Krishna and Sumit Sangwan are both out of the competition.

Vikas Krishnan is the bigger upset. He had a  better chance of Winning a medal. His ouster was uncalled for.

After a promising start in the World Boxing Championship,it seems all has started to fall apart.

After a shocking loss for Vikas and Sumit yesterday, today Shiva lost after he gave a walkover to his opponent.

Also,Manoj Kumar lost to his opponent.

This leaves us with 2 boxers in Quarter Finals and 1 boxer remaining who could reach the Quarter Finals.

I had predicted 5 boxers to reach the Quarter Finals and actually I was quite correct.

    2 boxers already qualified.

Apart from these 2,(I had predicted following boxers to qualify but they decided to prove me wrong)

Vikas(seeded 4th lost to quite a lower ranked opponent)

    Sumit(seeded 6th lost to 25th ranked boxer)

    Shiva(seeded 5th gave a walkover)

What I mean is,that we should have had 5 boxer's in the Quarter Finals as three of our seeded boxer's lost to very low ranked opponents which shouldn't have been the case.

Really Disappointing performance from our Higher Ranked Boxer's.

Hopefully our Remaining Boxer's can do something amazing and finish with a flourish but all 3 of our seeded boxer's not making even the quarter finals is quite Disappointing.

    Finally,the rut has been stopped.

Kavinder Bisht wins and reaches the Quarter Finals. He beat a very seasoned opponent Mohd. Flissi.Flissi is a a two time medalist at World Championships. So,this is very big scalp from Kavinder.

All 3 of our Younger Boxers Amit,Gaurav and Kavinder have made the Quarter Finals and are win away from a medal.

If and only if our seasoned and World class Boxers Shiva,Vikas and Sumit(all seeded 5th,4th and 6th respectively)could have won,My prediction would have come true and we would have an excellent chance of Winning 3-4 Medals. We still have a chance, let"s see what happens.

Now,we have 3 boxers in quarters, lets see what these youngsters can do.Hoping for the best.

In our History at World Boxing Championships, we have only won 3 MEDALS in Total(All 3 being Bronze) and that too never 2 medals in an edition.

Hope we can improve this time.

Sumitsangwan is very good boxers in 81kg category . He shifted his category to 91kg category so it takes time to adjust in his category he only has participated 2 tournament in his weight category

Sumit,  vikas and manoj are there in national squads for many many years now.  They performed at Asian games Commonwealth level but not at world or Olympic levels.  We need better ones in their categories. Boxing rules keep on changing and also the categories. Between now and Olympics,  they are going to remove atleast 2 weight categories putting tremendous pressure on boxers to qualify. Amateur boxing is nowadays a sport of young fast fit boxers - nice to see 3 of our young boxers reaching quarterfinals. Professional well even akhil Kumar is doing now. Amateur is far more competitive.
