Also(In this Tournament only),In Men's Doubles, RanikReddy(17yrs) and Chirag Shetty(20yrs) reached the Quarter Finals Stage and lost to World No.3 pairing in close 3 setter which is quite a Decent Showing by them.
With Age on their side,I feel in 2-3 years, these guys could be the Flagbearer of Men's Doubles for India in the World.
In 2-3 years,I feel They'll have the potential of Winning Global Medals for us and will put India on the World Map as Doubles Powerhouse and not just Singles Powerhouse.
Superb performance by Indian players. While Ramkumar defeated Brayden Schnur, Yuki took Shapovalov to 5 set thriller. Conditions in indoor stadium and Hard Court are not exactly suited for Indian players. The standard of Line Judges / Umpires was atrocious. Every close call / contentious decision was ruled against Indians. How many times will you appeal to TV umpires to reverse it ?? It upsets the whole rhythm of the player.
I was watching Cricket match being played in Chennai after a long time. I noticed 3 big empty stands. Are they still having Court problems and unsafe stands? This problem first came 5 years ago.
