I think IMGR dont want to take risk, only weekend matches means there will two of them on sat/sun which will result in less viewership and TRPs(not many people will watch straight 5-6hrs even if its weekend)
this is like upgrade although it could be better one
playoffs should have been scrapped straightway ..I expect even next year it will be same (merger or no merger)

any idea how super cup format will be?

Mid march is when exam starts in most of India. So may be in 15 days exams over and ipl season starts

they don't care about super cup and all other things

imp thing is .... holiday season means ipl... that's all

Yeah, the regular season ends March 4th and the Final will probably occur mid-March. Not terrible honestly, at least it is an improvement over last season.

Haw can ATM claim copyright on ATK's name? Athletico is like FC SC AC in other clubs. Nobody can claim copyright on that. ATK can keep athletico de Kolkata name if they want.

Atletico is Spanish word for 'Athletic'

There is no monopoly of Atletico Madrid on the use of this word. It is just a Spanish word.

Even 'Mohun Bagan AC' is 'Mohun Bagan Athletic Club'.

'Atletico de Kolkata' can be used as a club name by the club management if they want to continue with it. I don't think anything is wrong with using that name except that they have lost the Spanish connection now.

Seriously! Do you guys think ATM gives a fuck about a nondescript franchise like ATK.. ATK has zero brand value. So its not even a bother for Madrid.
