Ace India shuttlers PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy entered round two of the singles events at the China Open Super Series Premier, after registering contrasting victories on Wednesday.
Saina defeated USA's Beiwen Zhang in straight games 21-12, 21-13 in just 29 minutes, while Prannoy took one-and-half hours to get the better of Lee Dong Keun of Korea. Prannoy won the first round contest 18-21, 21-16, 21-19.
In the final match of the day, second seed Sindhu had to work hard to overcome Japan's Sayaka Sato in the first round. It took Sindhu 59 minutes to beat the unseeded Japanese 24-22, 23-21 in two tight games.
World No 2 and defending champion PV Sindhu has been eliminated from the China Open Super Series Premier after a surprising 11-21, 10-21 loss to Chinese teenager Gao Fangje in Friday's quarter-final in Fuzhou. With her exit, the last of India's badminton players had bowed out of the tournament.
What is the latest on National Games? Which state is hosting them in which year? It was supposed to be Goa chance but now I am listening Uttarakhand name. Year is not confirmed.
Very surprised to see the name of Dipsan Tirkey. Ramandeep can score goals and he is not there. S V Sunil is also at the end of his career now-cant rely much on him. Harjeet Singh, Talwinder were future according to me. Where is our expert @Bad
