Why not make Asian Cup a 24 team event, like Euros from 2016 onwards? It will be good for smaller teams like us. Since Asia is big continent, many countries can host it also.
ok. can we copy UEFA Nations League tournament into our giant Asian Confederation. As we are copying what UEFA does. This can boost football in Asia as many countries still don't play firendlies on Fifa matchdays. Now even smaller team will get a chance to play Friendlies just like any other league games.
in Asia, the problem is huge travel distance and poor economy. So the ideal solution will be to held the matches with nearby nations.
The gropuings should be like
1. West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) 12 . 2. Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) 6 + South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) 7. So 13 teams 3. East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) 10
We don't have to copy the full logic of UEFA nations league, as there are relegation/promotion to it. Here our concern is to play as many matches as we can in a cost effective manner.
WAFF should have 4 groups of 3 teams each
CAFA+SAFF should have 3 groups of 3 teams and 1 group of 4 teams
EAFF should have 2 groups of 3 teams and 1 group of 4 teams ASEAN should have 4 groups of 3 teams each
Why do you want to mix up CAFA and SAFF. Frankly speaking flight time from India to CAFA is approximately same as to travel to ASEAN or WAFF.
Present system is good where every zone has their own groupings. AFC gives travel subsidy too. You are getting 20 thousand dollars subsidy whereas you hardly spend even half that amount in travelling to Bangladesh / Maldives !!!

Present system is good where every zone has their own groupings. AFC gives travel subsidy too. You are getting 20 thousand dollars subsidy whereas you hardly spend even half that amount in travelling to Bangladesh / Maldives !!!
And it will give us chance to play Cafa teams too.
