  • Kerala Police, under the guidance of legendary Indian striker I.M. Vijayan along with former Indian internationals Jo Paul Ancheri and C.V. Pappachan for setting up an
academy of age level ranging from 10-16 years old. They have other more ambitious plans in coming years, and club would be run professionally

From that, na, I wont. Kerala Police, is that a club you want for I-League. Really? Of course I am just wasting my breath with someone who believes that in Indian football we can just accept any club only based on performance into I-League and that all other factors are useless, almost like in England where they have the best league and we should easily just copy them because they are best in the world and if we dont we shall fall into grace. Yes, lets believe we are better than what we are and adopt those rules, lets continue the hugely successful pro/rel and the hugely successful salary capless league and the amazing 1-month U20 league as well as a 2-3 month 2nd Division. Yes, lets continue this amazing tradition as it has already gotten India into the top 100, into the Group Stage of the AFC Champions League, gotten India into the Asian Cup regularly and gotten India into the World Cup. Yes what success.

Sometimes I wonder why IMG go with there version of the league, they have a much better idea than the I-League but only need to tweak it a little (Mainly making the league longer and getting older but not retired players).
  • After all, its just an academy, a youth program to groom young talents from Kerala, which is not a regular scene here in south, except SEPT...About Quartz or Eagles, not so sure even about the long run of these clubs...proper academy is a far thing...

    > common India need technically better player if these cooperate or service doing so why stop even few city named or region name don't have academy even cannot afford them

why the hell always a region name and that name what is there in name we need better football not naming policy here

Because no one will ever support a corporate team. Who the fuck wants to see ONGC. Will Air India's Durand Cup championship help them? Probably not. Who wants to see NISA, or Chirag Kerala, or HAL SC. Who wants to see BEML. In the past this has worked but obviously not now and currently the two regional clubs in NE (Shillong and Sikkim) occupy the best attendance's (Sikkim dont fu** me over) outside of East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. And dont fool me with the Goan clubs, I have seen pictures, the videos and I have seen local matches, I am not stupid. So what if Dempo and Salgaocar got 15,000 people ONCE. They need to constantly instead of the said 10,000 a game (if thats even true). When I watch the I-League matches from Goa and Kolkata (Pailan and Prayag) they remind me of Barnet FC's attendance of 3,000-4,000 a game.

The state/club based teams like Mumbai FC and Pune FC are not popular yet but eventually as the league gets better, the marketing gets better, and there performance gets better then we will see more fans gradually join them. Mumbai I have hopes for, Pune I will settle for 10,000 a game, I dont see the city as an overall huge domestic football market. But that wont happen for 10 years probably. And also you got a pride thing going on. Why do you think the Kerala Santosh Trophy team got the highest attendance during the EK Tournament reportedly.

That is why I dont like Dodsal! Where is the connection? Where is the care for the fans? What are they planning? All they are doing is saying "Oh we want to be like Manchester City, lets buy the best players and the fans will just come by themselves." Does anyone even know off the top of there heads what the company Dodsal does? I doubt it unless your a huge fan.

The only reason I am accepting Quartz is because they are already doing something. They saw the problem in Kerala and are taking action now. They are not really a corporate nor government team and I am hopeful that eventually they will see that some people will really follow a club named Quartz and maybe add the Kerala Cosmos FC to there name or something like that (Yes, I got Cosmos from Quartz).

  • I agree with everything he says and honestly he sounds like a very smart man who has done his research very well I may add but I still find myself confused with the star player thing. Keep in mind that the reason David Beckham went to MLS was not only because of money, he rejected English and Arabic offers for us and he liked the way we played. Same with Henry, Cahill, Marquez, and our newest big player Federico Higuaín (brother of the Real Madrid player).

We need to increase the level of play in the league. I dont think the likes of Henry and Marquez will like to play in I-League. Silvester will play in the I-League 2nd Division. If Dodsal dont make it then he is off faster than you can say Indian Football.
