Booth's guidance: The club, which was formed in 2007, has survived three years in the top division. "Last year we had a tough time avoiding relegation but this season we are well placed," said Picardo about the club's collection of 24 points from 14 round including seven wins and three draws.

The former Air India player also give credit to former coach David Booth who nurtured the squad for three years. " Khalid Jamil (coach) and I worked under Booth. It was Booth who guided us. In a way he nurtured us to take over the reins," Picardo said.

Elaborating on the club's plans, the manager said Mumbai FC is now working on an ambitious plan to build a stadium. "We have identified three places and our legal team is on the job to finalise the plot," he said.

The club, which wants to connect with every Mumbaikar, has already won thousands of fans who access the latest info from the internet. "We have got fans fro Finland to Germany who keep track of our progress," Picardo said.
