Delhi High Court on Tuesday passed an interim order asking the government to derecognise the All India Football Federation(AIFF) for contravening the sports code.
The Delhi High Court Tuesday directed the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to follow the sports code of the government of India for its next elections, scheduled for Dec 20 this year. :O
Election is on december 20th. Ban if any will come after that. If AIFF listens to Indian Court and Sports Bill, then FIFA will derecognise AIFF. If AIFF do not listen to High Court and Sports Bill, then Court will ban it. In short, they are screwed.
Either way this could be a good thing for us if AIFF is suspended (looking at the bright side). I know that India would have no access to the AFC Cup, AFC Challenge Cup etc but perhaps a suspension could set the AIFF straight.
There is no organization in the federation and their ideas seem so European and not what India needs.
EDIT: Actually. India can still play in the AFC Cup and AFC Challenge Cup (and AFC Asian Cup) if the AFC stay affiliated. There are many countries that play in the continental competitions but are not affiliated with FIFA. Guadaloupe for example play in the CONCACAF Gold Cup but are not affiliated with FIFA.

Perhaps. To be honest I am not fully sure. I dont think this has been the case before in any country. You are suspended from FIFA and I am guessing FIFA will tell AFC to suspend us as well.
Would we still be allowed in the SAFF Cup? That is another branch.

Well, we will see. I tried looking at examples like Nigeria (the great 24 hours of suspension) and Belize but nothing came up.
