y are ppl so pessimistic abt football in chennai. game hasnt been marketed well thats y. u have a NT playing there y will u not get a decent crowd in?
plus this would set a perfect stage for the game in chennai which has been targeted by both QPR and a franchise from IMG to set up shop there.
Fyi all of u are happy when u see crowds in BFC. how much did HAL have when they played in the I-league?
    typical fan stereotyping.
  • if it will play in chennai then i think it will help qpr's i-league team also .......

A lot depends on marketing. Chennai is a sports loving city like Kolkata. The Chennai Open dress good crowd. Even a few years ago the AFC u19 tournament held in salt lake Kolkata went unnoticed. Literally nobody came to watch it. But to cite that example to say Kolkata does no love football would be wrong

no one seriously follows u 19 & u23. we follow it to just know how the future players perform thats it.
cant give that as an example for poor crowd attendence. chennai is a market waiting to burst an looking for options apart from cricket. just like blore who were craving for a decent club to follow.

huge expat crowd from other states + die hard footie fans + new fans who just are curious in itself will pack the stadium. that can jumpstart the passion for the game once more.

'No one follows U19 & U23' that may be true for Cricket or any other sports not for football. For the record, IFN had the highest traffic when AFC U22 Championship was going on last year. And a tournament like Asian Cup, that too U19 cannot not generate no excitement!!

no pls dont mistake it when i say we dont follow. the defination of what i mean follow is to visit the tournaments that happen. we sure would either go to match were an i-league or a NT match is happening rather than be part of a u19-u-23 match.

I do not agree. I would be equally eager to go for age group national team as for senior national team. But let us agree to disageree as this is NEWS thread and we are crapping around :)
