India have tried this formula of playing tougher teams in last 2-3 years and it did not work..maybe Keralakid you were a kid then and not following...We played <b>Kuwait,Iraq,UAE,Yemen,Thailand,Malaysia,Azerbaijan,Qatar,Trinidad & Tobago,Oman, Zambia</b>..it doesnt get tougher than this...then we tried the lower rung in the form of <b>Tajikistan,Palestine, Singapore</b> and that too isnt working but we are trying with next in line <b>Phillipines, Nepal and Maldives</b> next year..honestly AIFF has actually managed to pull together some fantastic friendlies for team India in last 2-3 years but the team has disappointed<br>

Actually @keralakid has a point or two, he is clearly frustrated. I don't see India break into the top 100 in the next 10 to 15 years and to get there we need go jump several steps, infrastructure, players, etc but whenever we take a step forward we manage to fall down 2 steps. I feel the only chance India has a shot at the world cup is to stage the event. We can never qualify directly in the next 20 to 30 years unless a miracle happens.
