What model do you prefer in I-League?

What model do you want. Major League Soccer, Bundesliga, A-League, Premier League, La Liga.

Also say which one you most definitely dont want and why. The reason I am posting this is because I have seen a lot of people bad mouth MLS even though they probably dont even know how MLS REALLY works. The only reason they say MLS wont work really is because MLS is not as good as Europe. Well let me just say this, we have tried a Euro model with promotion/relegation for 16 years.Where has it taken us. Both Major League Soccer and I-League started in 1996. Which league has done better. MLS by 1,000,000 miles.

So which model should we choose?

If anyone forces to relegate Prayag United and last years champions Salgaocar to 2nd div. I wont watch I league anymore

I know but this is if we follow the J.League model to the point. Obviously the AIFF wont do this and will at most just force Air India and HAL out of the I-League next season and over the summer we would auction those players on both teams throughout the rest of the teams. Also the AIFF will probably tell Chirag to change there name from Chirag United Club Kerala to Chirag United Kerala officially.

So if we follow the J.League model it would most likely look like my first post. If we follow most likely reality then it is what I just wrote down.

a league worth a try but i would give the current league some time around 2-3 years and see how the league grows and mainly how is the idea of franchise league working(PLS) by that time aiff-img would be with a best suiting format of league
so i dont think we need to follow j-league or mls but best of them may be that may take few time but i am sure it will be worth the wait

The franchise system wont work for PLS because they are going to fast.

A franchise league should begin with the idea to develope and play current locals and semi-good foreigners which in turns help your finances a lot. Then that money can be used for stadiums and youth teams. Then after that you can go to players. Big-Players come last. PLS did the opposite. We are not Europe.
  • Can't wait to see Nabab Bhattacharya chasing arsenalfan in circles for turning Prayag United into Jharkhand United. Nabab Bhattacharya looks like the cartoon character Batul the great anyways.

I dont get what you said but let me guess, you are one of those people that think that West Bengal should have 4 or more teams in the I-League even though it is 100% clear that its not viable enough.

Also it does not have to be Jharkhand. Maybe Lucknow or Orissa. Anywhere thats not West Bengal. Prayag United is a club with potential but cant make money in Kolkata. That is East Bengal and Mohun Bagan territory. There are other parts of India that have great football support and dont have a club. Why not Prayag go there? Take advantage of that support. Like the representative from FiddlesWorld (co-owner of USFC) said "someone must be losing money here". He is right. People are losing money from the league and I bet Prayag is definitely one of those teams losing a lot of money.

i would like to have the model of bundesliga model...the clubs there are most financially viable sides in europe or even entire world and also good youth development ...possess all the ingredients for a national league to be good despite having a bit of crowding of clubsin certain parts

I love the Bundesliga model. The only European model I am willing to try and with what Arunava and Chris Daniel (Indian Football Writers) are posting these days mainly about German Football we may see this model. It still would need a lot of money and the federation participation. So the AIFF and I-League would need to work together. Not I-League separate. Also I am all for the Bundesliga but I still hope that if we do follow there model we still dont do promotion/relegation.

Bundesliga is the best, amazing model.18 teams and none with financial deficits and big crowds. It would be my dream to see I-League in similar lines.

Coming to Youth Development I'm a fan of FFF(French),they have the best training facilities and till date produce highest number of class players to different leagues around the world.
