Those foreigners fooled KBFC just like how Sony Norde used to fool MB

Atleast Norde was instrumental in MB winning i-League and Fed Cup, KBFC seems to have been wiped clean. Kerala fans really deserve better than KBFC management. With Kerala's footballing history, tradition, fan support, the state deserves a winning team or at least a team which competes at the top! I hope things do turn around, for the sake of INdian football a Kerala team needs to win silver ware.

I dont understand the team selection of Eelco. Blasters have lot of good players like Samuel, Cido etc. But Eelco doesnt play them together. He could play Cido in the wings, Samuel, Arques and Sahal in the centre. The usual wingers like Prasanth, Narzary have underperformed so far in all the games. I am not a football coach, but I can say in the last 20 minutes of todays game, they passed better when going upfront. Otherwise they make a lot of backpasses and play in their own half lot of times. Sahal's final shots are of poor quality, especially those with his left legs.

Sahal actually does not look NT material yet except for some exceptional dribbles sometimes. He needs to start scoring or else he will loose his NT spot soon

  • so after a hard fought and historic win against bfc, there has been discussion going amongst around kbfc fans. that day only 7k people came to watch the match. the manjappada fans this time took a different approach. apart from supporting kbfc, they were constantly demoralizing bfc players and fans.
chants like "who the fuck is ashique kuruniyan" were doing the rounds when he touch the ball and wasn't able to perform as he used to in previous matches. also when opponent teams bus comes to stadium, instead of welcoming the players they were taunting them.
There has been lot of debate going around since bfc came into ISL that should kbfc should also try not to supprort or respect other teams but demoralise them. But many fans didn't agree with this becuase this is not indian culture. The oppenent team enjoyed playing in kochi because of the huge crowd and we always respected good players.
But after lot of promotions and whatsapp messages, kbfc fans want to do like anfield where other teams are frightened to come. They are saying that it is football culture to boo and happens around the world. This is not a cricket which is respected and calm game. We have to learn it.
There will no more support to other teams from now on in kochi. They will be constantly booed and demoralized.

Kerala Blasters assistant coach Ishfaq Ahmed accused of corruption

The Blasters’ former striker Michael Chopra has made the sensational allegations over social media.

Kerala Blasters assistant coach Ishfaq Ahmed has been accused of taking kickbacks from the agents of players who sign for the club. The sensational charge has been made by former Blasters striker and Ahmed’s one-time teammate Michael Chopra.

Chopra was one of the marquee players in the league when he signed for the Kochi-based side, but had a dismissal spell scoring just one goal in 19 games, in what was an otherwise very good campaign for the  Yellow Army. They reached the final that season, only to fall short against Jose Molina’s ATK on penalties.

@ishuberk whats the story about you taking back handers from agents if the players sign for @KeralaBlasters @kbfc_manjappada take note what’s happening to your amazing club #corruption #indian #football #fifa #isl

The former striker to Twitter on Sunday evening

Perhaps not surprisingly, he was not offered a contract post the 2016 season and after being without a club for a while he decided to hang up his boots. Currently, he has been acting as an agent.

Ishfaq Ahmed, on the other hand, has been serving as an assistant coach for Kerala Blasters. He previously played for the club in 2014. The tactician then switched to a player-coach role from 2015-2017. He also served as an assistant for Jamshedpur FC in their inaugural season in 2017-18.

Kerala Blasters have had a disappointing campaign this time around, only managing to notch up 18 points in 17 games, even though the club invested heavily in the summer by bringing in veteran tactician Eelco Schattorie from NorthEast United FC to lead the team. The Dutchman was followed by star striker Barhomolew Ogbeche, who heads the league’s goalscoring charts with 13.

After a roller-coaster of a season this is the last piece of news that Blasters fans would have wanted and it will be interesting to see what transpires in the latest controversy to grip the domestic game.

When Khel Now approached the club for a statement regarding the issue they were unavailable for comment.

Kerala Blasters now travel to Bhubaneswar next Sunday for their last game this season and the team will hope to finish the season on a high note against Odisha FC.
