Mumbai City FC will take part in the premier Asian club competition for the first time by the virtue of being the ISL league topper shield winners in 2021. They have got a direct entry into group stage and have been placed in Group B alongside Al-Jazira, Al-Shabab, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya
Mumbai City will start their group stage games on April 7

A historical moment for a club from Kerala ever to play in an Asian level in Men's competition, Gokulam Kerala FC by the virtue of being the final day dramatic I league 2021 winners have been direct entry into group stage. They have been placed in Group D alongside Bashundhara Kings, Maziya and a winner from playoffs.
Gokulam Kerala will start their group stage games on May 18
As Mumbai City FC won the ISL cup too, ATK Mohun Bagan by the virtue of being the runners up have a long road to go to get into the group stage itself as they have to play atleast two plaoyff matches.
ATK Mohun Bagan will start their preliminary round matches on April 12
