Voot subscription will zoom upto 1000/year once this is done. they also have the rights for French league. La liga, Serie A, NBA, BWF world tour. IPL will probably end up with them from next year.

But but but...... nothing is going to make a difference in terms of availability of telecast until people actually start watching domestic football. wew have seen the pathetic number on hotstar for ISL viewership. IPL's Auctions waiting lobby had 100 times viewership than an Average ISL match ( except for the final). which basically makes it a poor commercial product. unless and until the European football fans in India don't turn their eyes towards domestic football. its not happening.

Streaming and cheap internet has changed the dynamics of profit in India.
Reliance / Jio has political backing for grabbing the two most profitable entities - IPL and Kabaddi League.
Disney Bosses of Star are also now disinterested in indian market

How is Sports18 going to help ISL. Reliance already owns ISL. If ISL goes to Sport18, wouldn't they get it for free? Since they won both the properties?

They will own it completely, the scheduling won't be at the hand of Star.

    Pros:
    1. Vertical integration is good in most cases though, its new in football in general will be a great feat if done.
    2. The fixture congestion could be fixed as they can give equal and fair coverage for all sports under reliance ownership and also extending the league to at least 6 months.
    3. The revenue increases for Reliance. Star is a minority holder and they take all broadcasting revenue now. It is in a way unfair to reliance as well as the clubs. Nobody gets anything now. It will interesting if they get some revenue to see how much they are willing to share.

    Cons:
    1. One crash to Reliance this will all come down to ashes. This is not their profit making industry as everyone knows.
    2. They will not actually share the revenue with lower divisions like they might claim and thus killing many clubs in this process. Even if they do it won't improve the infra and many other problems we are facing now
