If Australia can be in AFC why not Russia? 75% of Russia is geographically part of Asia anyways. Would be good fun to see SAFF countries take on Russia in a January evening in Moscow at Luzniki stadium for WCQ match
genetically, and culture wise they are different. They consider themselves as proud white race. So them being Asian would lead to further clashes. It doesn't sound good. Also it is a downgrade stuff. Even Turkey/Israel also playing in Europe and are competitive enough.
How do you accept Australia in AFC then? The ango-saxons and Jews anywhere are the most racist, bigoted, evil minded people humanity has ever seen. Also AFC is corrupt af, so I wont be surprised if this happens, Russians can play and it will be good for Asian football.

That's no doubt. But wouldn't it be a downgrade for Russians. Well let's say, if one has the capacity to purchase a proper SUV like Thar then why purchase SUV fake body cars like Kwid, S-presso.

Also it will rob a place for geneteically Asian team eg, Oman,Bahrain, UAE, Vietnam, Iraq, Jordan, and who knows maybe India from next WC qualifiers. I mean the team who comes really close to WC but goes out in the last round.

well i am not exactly happy but the Aussies are struggling right now and are more or less equal to Asian teams now. Beating them would give a sense of satisfaction for Asian teams which I feel the closest any Asian team to get to beat the white race people especially when it concerns football.  :D

Siberia can join AFC. European Russia are representing everything about Russian football at the moment, from clubs to the national team players, and they will fight tooth and nail to remain a part of UEFA.

Will be funny if Kazakhstan are in UEFA while Russia is slogging it out in AFC. Their players won't survive playing in the deserts and tropics of Asia anyway.

UEFA wont take back Russia for next 10 years, its a political game now and most west EU nation leaders are spreading Russophobia to win elections. Russia wont have a choice.

And if they play 10 years in Asia, we will drag them down to Asian levels

Asia’s pathway to the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup™ 2027 confirmed

Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 1: 22 teams, ranked 26 to 47, will be drawn to face off in a home and away format, where the 11 winners will progress to the Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2.

Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2: 36 teams – teams ranked from 1 to 25 as well as the 11 winners from the first round – will be divided into nine groups of four teams each, who will each compete in a round robin, home and away format, where the top two teams from each group – 18 in total – will advance to the AFC Asian Qualifiers.

AFC Asian Qualifiers: Subsequently, the 18 teams, who also qualify automatically for the AFC Asian Cup™ 2027, will be divided into three groups of six teams each, competing in a round robin, home and away format, with the top two teams from each group – six in total – qualifying directly to the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Asian Playoff: The final round will consist of the third and fourth placed teams from all groups of the AFC Asian Qualifiers – six teams in total. The six teams will be drawn into two groups of three teams each, competing in a single round robin format.

The two first placed teams from the Asian Playoff groups will advance to the FIFA World Cup 2026. The second-placed teams from both groups will compete in a playoff match to determine the side that will represent the AFC in the Intercontinental Playoff.

The AFC Asian Cup™ 2027 Qualifiers will continue from the Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 1 and Round 2, in parallel with the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification competition:

IMO, India should aim to be in the final 18-team round, where all the rest 5 teams of the group will be of top-quality for sure. Like can expansion of the current final 12-team round.

If we can't reach there, it's going to make even qualifying for Asian Cup a tricky business as only the group champions of next round will qualify for the final round.

Good structure put forward by AFC, very symmetrical. I hope no more best 2nd place team stuff. One more thing to be noted is that World Cup qualifiers will take up every single FIFA window from Oct 2023 (Nov for top 25 teams) till Jun 2025, leaving almost zero gap for international friendlies. We have to be among those 18 teams.

yes. good format this time. lots of matches to play. it will be  a big achievement if we reach the last 18 stage and even getting 4th postion in a group. that will lead us to playoffs with other confederations.

bro. 4th position in final round , you are expecting too much :)

First thing, we need to ensure is FIFA ranking ( Top 18) , else we will be sandwiched  in 2nd round by top teams like Uzbekistan (Probable pot2 team).
