We are not miles ahead of Turk but I just dont see the competition with them anymore. Tajikistan at least provide a great a battle no matter the score. The problem with Uzbekistan is what is the point of playing against there youth side. We already seen the affects of the Cameroon matches in which we won yet we got nothing in return, and that was only a "B" side.

Also again, think about it. Uzbekistan are probably in the top 5 of Asia right now. They are on a rise and they deserve to be ranked higher than they are right now. Do you think they would want to play against India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Turk, Tajik and Kaz. I dont think so.

how can u be SO SURE that uzbeks will send their youth side and not their senior 1?

  • Think about. Where are Uzbekistan? Where are the other 11 potential nations of a SAFF-CAFF Cup. Thats it. Uzbekistan dont have anything to gain by joining a cup like this. Specially with World Cup Qualification and AFC Asian Cup qualification coming up. And may I add that this is the same Uzbekistan that managed to beat Japan earlier this year and who recently drew South Korea 2-2. Imagine what they would do here!

match practice, fifa ranking points(though very few), trophies........
india has the same situation in SAFF CUP but still we play with the senior team......

  • That is completly different. Uzbekistan is miles ahead of India. You say match practice when Uzbekistan play more than us. For Uzbekistan it would be perfect to give the younger generation a try. The SAFF-CAFF Trophy would mean nothing to them, they win by default.

it will be gr8 for us to play against stronger opposition (top 70) rather than just bhutan or bangladesh

  • But it wont be Uzbekistan, it will be u20 players. It will be just like Cameroon, ranked 50 yet they bring a bunch of guys who would be ranked in the 130s. Yes it would be better to play better sides but that is what FIFA match dates are for and of course the AFC Challenge Cup.

FIFA nominates UFF for Fair Play Award

Zurich: Uzbekistan Football Federation (UFF), the winner of AFC Fair
Play Award 2012, has also been nominated in the FIFA Fair Play Award
2012, the world’s football governing body announced today.

UFF will fight it out with the Guatemalan Football Federation and Turkish club Eskisehirspor. The clubs and national teams of Uzbekistan collected the most fair play points in the AFC in 2012. Points are awarded or deducted on the basis of red and yellow cards received, positive play, respect towards opponents and the referee and the conduct of the officials as well as of the crowd.

The three nominees have been selected from a list submitted by the bureau of the Committee for Fair Play and Social Responsibility chaired by HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein and Senes Erzik.

Each year, FIFA commends persons or institutions for their fair play, an issue that has always been of crucial significance to world football’s governing body.
