    In a first of its kind endeavour, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has launched a Women Referees Development Program from November 19-23, 2012.

    Twenty three women referees are participatingfrom Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, IFA (West Bengal), Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tamilnadu and SSCB.

    The course instructors are Mrs Chaitali Paul (IFA), Mr. Rizwan-ul-Haq(Delhi) and Sushanta Mohanty (Orissa).

    Head of AIFF Referees Department Col. Goutam Kar said: “The AIFF will leave no stone unturnedfor referee’sdevelopment in India.”

  • The India women's under-16 team took the field during the AFC Women's U-16 Championship qualifiers today. They lost 5-2 to Iran in their opening match. Scorers unknown right now. Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka are also in our group and we are expected to beat Sri Lanka and possibly tie Uzbekistan and sneek into the actual tournament.


    Our next match is on 28 November against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka lost 6-0 to Uzbekistan.

    India U-16 women held by Sri Lanka

    India U-16 Women were held to a 1-1 draw by Sri Lanka U-16 in their second match of the AFC U-16 Qualifiers at the CR & FC Grounds, Colombo. Nevilla Colaco put India in the lead as early as the 2nd minute of the match. Sri Lanka restored parity in the 92nd minute through Thathsarani Dissanayake.

    In the other match of the day, Uzbekistan U-16 beat Iran U-16 women 3-0. India next play Uzbekistan U-16 on Novemver 30.

    Hindustan FC launches women's football team

    Hindustan Football Club, one of the premier clubs in the northern part
    of the country, added another feather to its cap by becoming the maiden
    top-flight club to launch its women's football team. The formation
    of the women's team is a giant step taken by the club in promoting the
    game since no other I-league teams (both first and second division) has a
    women's team at present. Announcing the launch of the team, Club
    President Sushil Pandit said the decision was taken to support and
    popularise the game among women. "The Delhi Soccer Association
    (DSA) is also looking to kickstart its women's league and Hindustan FC,
    being one of the premier clubs in the country, we have decided to start
    our women's wing," he said. The team, which will be captained by
    Indian under-19 international Neha Kapoor comprises of some national
    level players - Kuhelika Guha, Nancy Gupta, Neha Yadav and Pooja
    Manderwal among others.

    Lights, camera, action. The welcome which is generally accorded only to film personalities or top cricketers in the country was reserved for a select band of women footballers in the country when the Hindustan Football Club today(28/11/2012) launched its women’s wing at a glittering function in the national capital.

    Today(1.12.2012) India U-19 Women Team went down 0-7 to Chinese Taipei in their first match of the second round of the AFC U-19 Women's Championship in Ho Chi Minh City.

    could there be some other issue affecting the team..maybe injuries or weather?... Chinese taipae cant be that brilliant?..

    India U-19 Women went down 0-10 to hosts Vietnam in their second match of the second round of the AFC U-19 Women's Championship in Ho Chi Minh City.
    India next play Myanmaar on December 5, 2012.
