You all said that we would not spend. That we were stingy. We showed you all!<div><br></div><div>Tottenham can spend 100 million pounds on crap + 1 good player while Arsenal go out and sign probably the best #10 in the world for 40 million.</div><div><br></div><div>Imagine:</div><div><br></div><div>Szecezny</div><div>Sanga - Mertesaker - Laurent - Gibbs</div><div>Ramsey - Wilshere</div><div>Walcott - Ozil - Cazorla</div><div>Giroud</div><div><br></div><div>Bench: Viviano, Jenkinson, Monreal, Vermaelen, Rosicky, Flamini, Podolski.</div><div><br></div><div>And that is not even including Oxlade-Chamberlain and Arteta.</div>
  • Looks good when you got the ball, wonder about your defense as a team on the counter.

<br><div><br></div><div>They can get back quickly. What I saw from the Tottenham game is that the players do all have some defensive abilities. When Kieren Gibbs lost the ball up top and Tottenham went on a break I thought Spurs would take advantage of that space left by Gibbs. Nope. What do I see? Santi Cazorla back, playing temporarily as a left-back while Gibbs gets back. Gibbs all of a sudden is back in position and Cazorla still near Andros Townsend and right away the ball is back with Arsenal.</div><div><br></div><div>Same on the right. Ramsey can easily come back if either Sagna or Jenkinson are up front and he can play as a temp-RB so nicely. He even played as a RB for portions of the 2nd half of last season when Arsenal went on a grand run.</div><div><br></div><div>So I understand what you mean but overall I am confident in the players and mainly their togetherness in the fact that they can defend as well as they can attack. COYG.</div>

<P>I think the second half against tottenham did show Arsenal can defend well..The Defence is a huge improvement over the last 2 years<BR></P>

<P>I would have been thrilled to have seen Demba partner with Giroud, the Strikers front is still a worry for me, Giroud is our sole striker if he isinjured weare in a bit of a soup as podolski is out for nearly 3 months. while Theo can fulfill the role but he is not a true striker..</P>
<P>I am kind off happy to know Chelsea see Arsenal as a real threat and did not loan us Demba..Is Mourinho so worried?..</P>
<P>All in all the required positons have been covered ,it will be a exciting season to watch now..<BR></P>

<br><div><br></div><div>Ya, I kinda saw Demba Ba as a could be new Bergkamp. A guy who was down on his luck at his previous club who comes to Arsenal a dominates. Honestly though he probably would have just replaced Sanogo on the bench.</div><div><br></div><div>As for the striker. As someone who has seen Theo play in the middle live, trust me, while I would rather Giroud and Pods there I would not mind Theo running the show in the mid. When he is confident and on form and provided good service he is easily one of our most dangerous goalscorers on the team. He is also a speedster which gives him a massive advantage on runs, which Ozil and Cazorla can provide.</div><div><br></div><div>Hopefully Giroud though can stay fit but if not then Walcott it is!</div>
  • <P>I have read a few articles on the Ozil transfer and seen a few of his clips..Ozil is really  good signing,  value  wise and intent wise .. He  will give Wenger lots of Permutations and combinations that can be tried out based on the opposition..I  am a bit worried if he will cope with the physicality and tempo of the EPL  with matches being played every 5-7 days..</P>
<P>thinkng back now Mourinho not loaning DEMBA is directly related to Ozil comming in. im sure he is awre of Ozil quality having called him the best midfileder in the world ..if we had bought in anyone else DEMBA would be wearing Arsenal colors.. Imagine DEMPA and Giroud  being fed defense slitting passes via Ozil & carzola..</P>
<P>I definately see us competing for at least 2nd -3rd position and with some luck and injury free run even competing for the Title.</P>

From what I heard the Demba Ba deal was more related to us not meeting a 3 million pound loan fee (which is ridiculous) and/or Chelsea did not want to send a player, who they are more than content with letting stay with the club, to a rival.
