Only Mizoram, Manipur, and Meghalaya have actually done well though in NE. Assam are hit or miss, AP hasn't done anything, Nagaland as well. Tripura also haven't done much, and same for Sikkim.

Any idea of Federation Cup groupings ? Heard that it will be a 8 team tournament but with old format.....then logically one group should have I-League 1, 4, 5 & 8 while the other 2, 3, 6 & 7.

Cricket administrator Sundar Raman knew a contact of a bookie and had contacted him eight times in one season, panel tells SC. Additionally, Gurunath Meiyappan can heave a sigh of relief as according to the Mudgal commission, he is not involved in the match fixing. Previously, there were many allegations on Meiyappan but the latest Mudgal report said that he was not involved in match fixing.

Earlier on November 14, during the hearing in the SC, it was revealed that Srinivasan, along with his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, IPL COO Sundar Raman and Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra were four of the 13 members in the envelope given to the SC by Mudgal committee.

The committee had submitted its list in the first week of November and the court had conducted the first hearing on November 10. The four names revealed by the SC have to be present in the apex court on November 24.

FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017: Kolkata to host the final

The FIFA Inspection committee have also revealed that the tournament opener will held in Mumbai...

Kolkata, often known as the cradle of Indian football, will hold the final of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup later this year.

The inspection committee of FIFA, currently in India to oversee the preparations at the venues, announced that the final will be held at the Yuva Bharti Krirangan in The City of Joy on 28th October 2017.

The committee were on a week-long inspection of the six proposed venues for India's first ever FIFA tournament, which are New Delhi, Goa, Kochi, Navi Mumbai, Guwahati and Kolkata.

The showpiece tournament, which will be held in October this year, will see its opening game being held at Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium.

The semifinals will be hosted by Guwahati and Navi Mumbai. It was also confirmed that each venue will host at least eight matches.

Tournament Director of the Local Organising Committee Javier Ceppi said, "It is a happy day for me because all the questions about the match schedule will stop being asked. We can finally focus on other things. It has been an extremely complicated process to finalise the schedule to have a World Cup in India - different festivities, weather patterns, different timelines."

He added, "We know that October is a month of festivities and we want this to be a festival of football."

The slogan for the tournament was also revealed at the event in Kolkata, which goes - "Football takes over". Ceppi went on to explain, "This is the first time that India is hosting a FIFA tournament. It will be also the first time an Indian team will play in a FIFA competition. In recognition of the increasing excitement about the beautiful game in India, ‘Football Takes Over’ was the first and most fitting choice as the Official Slogan for the tournament."

Apart from India, who have qualified due to their standing as the hosts, the other qualified countries are: Iran, Iraq, Japan and Korea DPR (from AFC), Brazil, Paraguay, Chile and Colombia (CONMEBOL), followed by New Caledonia and New Zealand (from OFC).

Teams representing countries from Europe (UEFA), North and Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) and Africa (CAF) will qualify in the coming months.

The draw for the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 will take place on 7 July in Mumbai.
