There is no Retirement age in Indian Sports. Performance/Fitness is also not a criteria for big names. Very very few sportsman, across all streams, have dignity & grace to Retire while performing normally. They retire only if they are not selected.
European Teams will not play friendlies outside of UEFA confederation on FIFA schedule days anymore as they now have European Nations League to paly on those dates. Big loss for Big AFC teams like Australia, Japan etc. as now they will have to either play minnows in AFC or big teams in Africa to South America on FIFA schedule days. AFC should come out with its own AFC Nations League.. It will be good for nation like India as we will play good amount of games with similar ranked teams then..
They will play outside of UEFA too. They do not miss any chance as NT sponsorship, TV ratings is big bucks. Every break is utilised for two internationals- one for this UEFA stuff and other for Friendly. Look at England-they are playing against USA on 15 November and then against Croatia for this UEFA stuff on 18 November.
Snep, you must understand it is difficult to organize home/away games for all countries in Asia. Like for Ind-Pak, Myanmar-all most all Muslim majority nations etc. AFC nations league is not so easy to conduct. But there was a proposal from Dato.
