Corbett getting the nod over Delhi fc even after they submitted the club licensing docs on time. Aiff is seriously sketchy why restrict to 10. What's wrong if 12 teams compete ?
Interesting to see a team from Uttarakhand inspired by the history of Jim Corbett or atleast the name..The man was a legend..more Indian than people understand him to be
AFC decided to calculate performance in ACL and AFC Cup separately. So, the average points will be taken for each of ACL and AFC Cup, and will be summed to become the points for the country. This gives huge advantage to countries which participates in both competitions.
Uzbekistan has overtaken UAE to 4th in West due to this rule. Tajikistan, India, and Hong Kong also made a huge leap in the rankings. Hong Kong especially made it to 5th spot in East Region.
This will also impact the situation regarding ACL slots for 2023 season. In West Region, Saudi Arabia and Iran are guaranteed 3+1 slots. Qatar will have 2+2 slots, while 2+2 slots will also be given to either Uzbekistan, UAE, and Tajikistan. 8 countries in the West Region have been guaranteed ACL direct slot in 2023: 6 countries mentioned in previous tweet, also Jordan and Iraq. Turkmenistan, India, and Lebanon are still fighting for the remaining 2 direct slots. Kuwait is out of the race.

AFC did the right thing. A sigh of relief for India. Atleast 11th spot is guaranteed for India.
New book reveals untold stories of Indian football
A new book titled 'Kick-Off' unearths a lot of interesting anecdotes on Indian football from the 1950s to the 80s.
The 28-chapter book has been written by veteran sports journalist Shyam Sundar Ghosh and he also extensively spoke to experts of bygone era trying to reason why India from being a continental powerhouse in the sport plummeted to abysmal depths in the later years.
The book also busts popular myths like India being invited to play the 1950 FIFA World Cup, which the author termed as "fake propaganda."
Then various controversial episodes of Indian football including why the most successful foreign coach Milovan left the country midway into his contracts also finds mention in the book.
Looks like AIFF has been allowed to participate in the CAFA or Central Aisa tournaments from 2022. If this is true then a good thing from AIFF. CAFA has approved the same.
CAFA formed some 6 years ago, but still so far there is no Senior or U23 Men's CAFA Championship.
Also my observation is though Iran is main reason for formation of new Association, they are not an active member. So far all championships ( Youth & Women's ) are hosted either by Uzbekistan or Tajikistan and future events planned in Tajikistan.
Afghanistan will not be able to Host and can be ruled out. Kyrgyzstan infrastructure is not good. Not sure about Turkmenistan. But Iran has all facilities & infrastructure to host the events.
