Under what rules Air India and ongc can be relegated???? same way which AFC guideline says 100 crore guarantee ensures no relegation. what is Salgaocar give guarantee-then no relegation for them too. so relegation can be purchased for 100 crores??? There is no such FIFA and AFC rules. then you cannot relegate air india and ONGC also.

don't you want air india & ongc to be relegated.....its mine &   @Arsenalkid700 long time dream

If you cannot find clubs who can defeat air india and ONGC on football pitch in 90 minutes playing football, then shame on other clubs. Probably they dont deserve to play in I-league Right!!!!

Take it as a real life example-You get a seat in IIT if you clear entrance exam, not by giving donation. Such corrupt people like Dodsal who cannot even play in 2nd division league-what can you expect from them? So Indian football is all about influence and money, not about playing 90 minutes on ground. Twist and turn any rule to make sure one's club like Sikkim and Lajong who will be last in the points table will not be relegated. cannot play football to win, so debar other clubs so that they stay.

  • @munna the only probblem eith these clubs is theie names...if they could have changed it to some football cluh std ipl type name i wud not critixize these teams....

Even Dodsal is a name of the group. same with Salgaocar, Dempo etc. thats the name of their company/conglomerate/group and same goes with their club's name. After all they are promoting their company name. so Salgaocar can play-same way Air India can play.
if its franchisee league then thats different case-then even East Bengal or Mohun bagan will have to change name.

  • Honestly just from looking at what gaffertape has said and what Dodsal are I think the reports are wrong.

I think IMG approached Dodsal to be one of the investors in a franchise (probably the Mumbai one) for the proposed IMG League.

Come on... do we all really think that Dodsal missed the deadline by accident. They are smarter than that.

Congrats to IMG... they may have found their first franchise owner.

Considering that we all know that clubs like Air India and ONGC promise so much and fail is a reason for their expulsion. Korea did it last season and Japan will do it this season as well. Come on munna.

Clubs like ONGC and Air India are fine on the field but they don't care about the fans. What have they ever done that shows any love for the fans, if any. What have they done to try and get fans? Nothing. They are the losers of the league because they are lazy and thus they failed countless times the basic AFC guidelines and thus they should be expelled. The other clubs you mentioned did not.

And what the hell do you expect from USFC and SLFC. USFC is only 2 years old and in their first year. Give them a break. SLFC only really starting pushing this year and losing them would also mean losing 25,000 fans a game.

I bet that would please 90% of the users on this forum.

@Arsenalkid700 ;     You should also realise that teams like Air India are from Mumbai and we are not organising any matches in Mumbai for some time. Beleive me, Air India attracted more fans then Mahindra United in Mumbai.

I have been to Cooperage many years ago,so I know abt that. Talking about fans, lets see how many fans they are able to bring once action shifts back to Cooperage Ground. what if they get attendance more then Pailan Arrows or Dempo?
    :P

  • @munna21977 That article says around 500 to 1,000 fans a game for Air India. And if they are the most popular then please tell that to the fans of Mumbai FC who are growing, abide in small patches per season.

Meanwhile I am surprised that the newspaper can say 1,000 people per game at best and yet we all think it is fine to have 3 Mumbai based teams with potentially Dodsal coming up. Only in the pre-mature promotion/relegation world of Indian football would that happen.

@Arsenalkid700 . I have always found that Goan teams get almost equal support as the Mumbai teams at Cooperage.

@ashlesh. He was talking about Dempo support at Cooperage and not Goa.

Well as you very well know there is that Goan population in Mumbai and most football support and players have Goan names and yet are born in Mumbai. It is not a surprise really when you think about it and now it is up to the Mumbai clubs to change that. Give themselves and city an identity.
