Siliguri can bring crowd from neighbouring Nepal and Bhutan also. North East can bring some serious crowd like Shillong or Imphal/Aizawl. In the past, Goa and Delhi were disaster as very poor crowd turnout-saving grace were Nepali and Afghani students. Except Finals, I think none of the games even touched 1000 people.

I remember 1999 SAFF cup-Bruno Coutinho was star player then. In one league match, India was playing Pakistan. Bruno was substituted, angry crowd started supporting Pakistan against India.
India had young Bhutia and none of the teams could pose any challenge. But crowd was very sparse even then-not even 1000 people at Fatorda.
http://www.goalnepal.com/news.php?id=15996

According to Mr Colaco, July/August is the right month to play this tournament. That means rain and slippery conditions. Not possible to play in Kerala and North East in that season.
What a mafia bunch saff is.. so no elections and kazi to continue... and india to host every other edition.. how is that fair..maybe time for wsg to step aside n other company to bid? Maybe time to change format..since non saff teams play afc cup or world cup qlfrs in advanced stages..perhaps play on fifa dates..home n away.. league format? B4 any slaughters me for this..jus a random idea..
Why is SAFF hosting in India is a waste? To be frank India happens to have the best facilities in South Asia. Playing in natural grass which isnt the case in Serious international football doesnt help hone your skills.
I can argue that the main reason India stuggled in the group phase was due to Grass pitches rather than the artificial turf we use in india which are of International Standard.
I can also say that SAFF earns more in revenue in india due to sponsership and advertising than in any other country. Plus the TV coverage is worlds better than what you recieve as feed from other countries here.
