Personally, I agree with many things that were brought up in the article but also disagreed with many things.<div><br></div><div>The foreigners for example. I do not believe the quota should be reduced, however, I agree that we need an increase in the quality of foreigners. Perhaps what the AIFF could do, in a way that the I-League clubs will hopefully agree on, is a "Reviewed Foreign Player" rule. So it would be the same quota, 4 foreigners, 3 being any nationallity with the fourth being only Asian, however for the "RFP" rule you can sign 2 foreigners at random... anyone. Anyone from a random Nigerian to a former A-League player. Then, for the other two foreigners, they must have a "background check" of their CV and past done by the AIFF before being signed.</div><div><br></div><div>Basically, if you want to add a third foreigner, it will not be as easy as you think. You can't just bring in a random Nigerian like Orok Essien or say a regular I-League standard foreigner like Boima Karpeh in but you must bring in a guy with a proven track record at the better leagues like a Matthew Foschini or Calum Angus or John Johnson. These guys have played plenty of games in leagues that are better quality than I-League and would add just that extra bit of quality to the league.</div><div><br></div><div>Anyway, that is just my suggestion. There are negatives as well like when we signed Carlos Hernandez and he became an overweight, lazy bastard or Rohan Ricketts but overall I believe it would work.</div>

AIFF will not be able to enforce quality control for the foreigners. The clubs will cite financial non-viability of the I-league as a justification foe their Murandas. And if clubs do so, they are justified. We have seen how AIFF has had to continually postpone the implementation of the AFC guidelines.
