Well it isn't really a problem if he gambles in his personal life, but it sure is when he gets so involved that loan sharks threaten to kill him. He owed tons of money to his team mates, killing any team chemistry whatsoever. Again, nothing wrong with owing your friends some money, but it's the club that suffers, after paying him a wage and not being able to get professionalism out of him, not acceptable when every one around you is trying their best. Having said that, he's only human, everybody makes mistakes.
@preetam ; 5 years residency in India is a must. After living for 5 years, he can apply and do it fast like in 2 months. Arata had to live 5 years and then apply. There is no short cut.
That is what he is hoping for. And that is what we are hoping for too. So the answer clearly betrays his or the AIFF's powerlessness when it comes to dealing with IMG-R. If not, he would have been more assertive about the future of the leagues

3) Merge Both Leagues.
4) collaboration between ISL Franchises and I-League clubs.
I guess they cant speculate on anything right now. All depends on success of this concept. Either it will fold after one year and they will resume I-League as IMG-Reliance will exit. Or it will be a success and they will go from there.
