Praful Patel has called for a meeting of I-League clubs, ISL franchises and IMG-R on 4th September. Apparently, this will be the beginning of I-League ISL merger talks, @gaffertape Any updates?
Patel: "Okay, I have brought you all here today to talk about the future of top division football in India. We shall all discuss as a group, the future of a potential merger or plans of any kind that will benefit Indian football. Now, I believe there was a 20 lakh meeting fee? Please pass the checks to me."
ISL officials and I-League officials pass checks to Patel
Patel: "Good. Okay. Now unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances in the last 5 seconds, I will not be able to take part in this discussion. Before I go though and do what unforeseeably came up, I shall put in these checks and they shall be used towards the development of football. Thank you and have a good conversation."
Patel leaves the room and a car is heard screeching away. The next month, the India national under-16 team is forced to withdraw from the AFC U16 Championship due to no money being available for travel.
Das is the puppet. He is none the wiser to what is happening in this tale. When the news is revealed about India U16 withdrawal, Das will be the one answering questions while Patel is away at a business meeting in Dubai or is at the opening game of ISL.
I bet they will try to push some Pune team in I-League after this meeting. Some direct entry Gujarat Franchise which will play in Pune. AIFF cannot imagine Football without empty stadium Pune.
Why do we need marketing partners when we can't get broadcast home game? There is really wrong with AIFF. How to fight with these? Is it possible fight with AIFF legally?
Marketing Partner is IMG-Reliance. Their logic is that unless there is benefit to Reliance Group, they will not do anything. They do not have any benefit in National team games. ISL and only ISL.
