Still it would be great to know who all attended the meeting. Newspapers say that if the ileague remains at 9 teams, 2 more teams may quit, leaving a grand total of 7 teams competing for the "national league", called so without a touch of irony. i guess only @gaffertape could give live updates!!
This person only collected negativity of last 10 years while writing this article. Only positive thing can be added when Constantine will be fired.
Out of 51 crores budget for AIFF, atleast 15 crores came from other sources. Its not that only IMG-Reliance is financing AIFF. They can leave if they wish.
About the article, the initial part looked impartial but in the end it was heavily siding Constantine. It is pretty evident from the current scenario that the even Constantine is another guilty party, but surprising there was no mention of such thing.
I do agree the point that we are over hyping our players by paying them over the top salaries. But in reality we have a very small pool of players. And when you mandate to include sub-par player in the team, it becomes a problem of manufacture and demand which will bound to increase the price. You can't simply site this problem until you increase the manufacture (ie produce more players).
About, not playing strikers in I-league. Nothing can be done till you have all Indian playing in I-league and even then you will loose out with the quality football because of lack of competition.
Another thing I would like to add here. In India, we fans (including me) and stakeholders have a very less patience. One bad result and all hell will break loose. We want to scale the mount very quickly and in short time. Same with results.
