Every league in the world is releasing players only 1 day before the FIFA window which starts on October 5. Let's see when Gurpreet Sandhu is released from Norway.

Like I said in the article, ISL is not the recognized league of the country. So why should AIFF let them have priority over the national team? Imagine the frustration of the coach. It is shameful that some forum members are going such great lengths to defend ISL's action that sabotages the prospects of our national football team.

So 48 hours enough for the 155 ranked team to prepare for an away match in Central Asia? We truly have descended the bottomless pit of footballing incompetence.

  • @atuljg Yatra do not cover Turkmenistan Airlines. Flight is mere 3 hours from Amritsar to Ashgabat by Turkmenistan Airlines. That is better then 12 hours via Dubai.

Oh, that's even better. Then why worry about jet lag? 3 hours is nothing.

@namewtheld ;  The dates for ISL and WCQ were decided long time ago. When they selected NT players for ISL, this question must have come in their minds that when will they release NT players or whether they will have Camp or not. the decision not to have camp must have taken that time only.
Why Stephen Constantine is saying that he wish there was a camp from 29th september? Was he not informed about this in advance? or is he making excuse for another defeat  that look, we lost because we didnt organise any camp.

  • AIFF Executive Committee, chaired by Praful Patel ended without any major decisions on I League or the 2nd Division League. The meeting held at AIFF Headquarters, Football house in Dwarka, New Delhi was attended by AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das, Vice Presidents Larsing Ming, KMI Mather, and Subhash Chopra and Treasurer ZA Thakur.

Indian National Team Coach Stephen Constantine, Technical Director Scott O'Donnell, 2017 U17 FIFA World Cup Tournament Director, Javier Ceppi, and Project Director of 2017 U17 WC, Joy Bhattacharya were also present at the meeting. Also, representatives of FSDL, Organisers of ISL were among the attendees.

The meeting which was expected to clear some air on the future of I League did not had any discussion on the subject. Though the format of 2nd Division League, which was an open secret, was confirmed. It would be played in Conference System with 11 teams divided in Eastern and Western Conference, with top three teams from each Conference making it to the final round. Both the Rounds will be played on Home and Away basis. Though there was no confirmation on the teams participating and the scheduling of League.

In addition, it was announced that U15 and U18 Leagues will be divided into five zones (Goa, East, Maharashtra, North East and Rest of India) with top two teams from each zone qualifying for the final round.

Also, Bengaluru was awarded the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying match against Guam on November 12. This would be the third consecutive FIFA Qualifier that Will be played at Sree Kanteerava after Bengaluru hosted Oman and Iran in June and September. Though INDIA lost both their matches, but the crowd support was phenomenal and the attendance was among highest in Asia. The match was slated to be played at the newly constructed Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram but Kerala Football Association's dispute with Stadium owner over rent may have influenced the change of venues.

OTHER DECISIONS TAKEN AT THE MEETING ARE:

    - Nagpur to Host final Phase of Santosh Trophy
    - Madhya Pradesh FA to host Senior National Women's Championship
    - Directive issued to Haryana FA to hold elections and furnish Constitution immediately.

  • Upcoming World Cup Qualifiers are on October 8th, October 13th, November 12th, March 24th and March 29th.  I dont think AIFF is in position to organise any camp for any of these fixtures. In march I-League and AFC Cup will be going on. October and November is for ISL.
We have two leagues and our NT is not prepared with enough friendlies. Other countries do not have two leagues and they keep their squad ready with regular Friendlies. Therefore they are in a better situation when clubs just release players for FIFA window.
Until we sort out two leagues and NT dilemma, such conflict will keep on coming and results, we know are bad for our NT.
