This news says MB & EB has registered Cooperage as their home ground for the forthcoming season as there are no stadium to play in West Bengal. YBK is out for WC, other stadiums are not upto AFC level, Guwahati, Pune, Chennai and Barabati are also not available (due to WC and pricing). MB even will have to play in Balewadi for AFC Cup because Cooparage is not upto AFC level.
Just imagine, not a second stadium in Bengal. Great job of infra development by IFA, and in the wake of WC also!
And we wonder why we fail to overcome the Afghans. We are more or less in the same stage of development. They have war as alibi, we have our officials.
As written above, the Barasat, Kalyani or the Kanchenjunga Stadium do not fulfil the criterion of the AFC. So these three stadiums could not be selected because of the licensing criterion of the AFC which had to be completed within 22nd September.
I can understand for AFC Cup but for I-League also, Barasat Stadium cannot be used? What about Rabindra Sarobar then? AFC Criteria by 22nd September for I-league which will be held in 2017? Barasat Stadium will not qualify by 22nd September ?
