After Kochi and Navi Mumbai, FIFA’s 13-member delegation confirmed Goa’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium as a venue for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, 2017. The team evaluated developments made towards preparations for the U-17 World Cup and were delighted with the progress since the last inspection in February. Tournament Director of the LOC, Mr Javier Ceppi and FIFA’s Project Lead for the tournament, Ms Tracy Lu both felt that hosting the AFC U16 Championship helped Goa get into a very high infrastructure compliance level required for the marquee event. They added that Goa certainly deserves to be a venue for India’s first FIFAtournament.
by that time FIFA rankings will be out atleast two more times and if we dont play any international friendly, our ranking is bound to drop. Back in 140s. Will we get into Pot 2 than?
What the hell AIFF is doing. They should at least finalize the next NT coach or should continue the current one by announcing it. At least the new coach will start planning or start team building.
@Carbon_14 Zico was never a coach of Iran. Japan yes but Zico has spent many years as a player and also coach of Kashima Antlers. That time was different, Japan was a bit down due to their poor performance in WorldCup, so they looked for shortcuts like Japan passports to Brazilians playing in Japanese clubs etc. Later on, Zico became unpopular in Japan itself.
