Durand Cup should be held during that period of 3-weeks with the I-League clubs giving it more importance.
<br><br>Durand Cup is organised by Indian army at Ambedkar Stadium and it is mostly done in August. I doubt whether AIFF has any control over it. If I-league clubs are not there, they anyways will go ahead with PSU teams and their Services Team.I take it as a Pre-Season tournamnet and clubs should participate in it to get some rythm with new players and combinations. <br>

<br><div><br></div><div>That does not stop the IPFCA from talking to them and getting them to do it during the 3-week break. I mean why not?</div><div><br></div><div>I will agree though that it is a nice pre-season tournament for some teams who bother to play in it but I am sure they can find replacments. Pune has their Peninsula Pune Cup for example. Some clubs could play in that. Goan clubs could start there own cup as well.</div><div><br></div><div>There are possibilities.</div>
Yes there are possibilities. As I-league and National Camps take up most of the calendar, most of the other tournaments try to get whatever slot they have. IFA shield is one of them. Anyone remebers Airlines Gold Cup, Sikkim Gold Cup, Bordoloi Trophy, Rovers Cup. <br><br>The Big problem is money and infrastructure. Who should spend money and who will get money? Thats the fight.<br>
