Only the club which win I-league should be given slot of AFC Champions League Qualifiers and in case of faltering, it should go to AFC Cup. Winner of Federation cup should be given AFC Cup slot. This year Pune FC got back door entry being the only club which satisfy criteria and result is that Pune FC is going out in 1st round of AFC Cup. No more back door entry please. From next year, they should be strict. Churchill Brothers won Federation Cup, so CB should be sent to AFC Cup. Bangalore FC will win I-League this year, they should play in qualifiers and if BFC do not have points, then let them play in AFC Cup. We do not want wastage of slot in back door entry team like Pune FC who will be out in 1st Round of AFC Cup.
Dempo can only get a maximum of 43 points ,so I'll discount them from the analysis
BFC have to pick up maximum points against Rangdajied & the Jekyl & Hyde Churchill Brothers team, expect them to beat USC, the next 2 games are real 6 pointers for them and they'll probably drop a game & only get a point off those 2 ( 10 points )
SCdeGoa can see them coming unstuck against the "Kolkata giants", ( 8 points)
Pune FC; 8 games in a month will take its toll on this young squad, if any injuries to foreigners or Pavlovic doesn't settle ( he has a notorious temper) will see them slip up..( 9 points)
SLFC; although they have improved away from home, 5 games on the road as we head towards the summer will have its effect, that coupled with payment issues will see them slip away (5-6 points)
Salgaocar; have the best set of fixtures, 5 games in Goa, expect them to catch up lost ground ( 13 points)
East Bengal ; also have 5 games in Kolkata but 2 are derbies, so tough to predict ( 11 points)
Bengaluru FC : 41
Sporting Club : 36
Pune FC : 37
Shillong Lajong : 30
Salgaocar FC : 37
East Bengal : 30 ( 18 games)
48 points will probably win the League this year
BFC have picked up 4 points from possible 9, still on course for the 10points
SCde Goa have 0 from 6 and unlikely to get even 6 from the remaining 9 the way they are playing
Pune FC have got 2 from 6 and probably sneak another 5 from next 3 games
SLFC have 1 from 6 and will probably only get 6 as predicted
Salgaocar have 6 from possible 6 and will probably get the 13 predicted points and make a late title run
East Bengal ?
too update this from almost 3 weeks back....
Played | Wins| Losses| Draws| Points | next few games..........
@gaffertape Probably we will need another update after this round on your prediction few posts ago. May be Dempo is again in the Title run. and for Jekyl and Hyde team Churchill Brothers
So its official, matches will be held at Cooperage. The Ten Action listing shows both Mumbai's matches to be telecasted live. Also probably for the first time, match at Kalyani will be held under flood lights. Overall a good telecast schedule with lot of double headers. Icing on the cake would be Debayan Sen commentating in these matches.
