Armando is alright for now because he is committed to passing play. But to enforce that style into the footballing system of India we need a whole set of coaches headed by a Chief Coach or TD whatever he may be called -- preferably from a Latin American country -- who will overhaul the system. They should take care of the whole youth development system and dictate the club coaches (regarding style) as well. Big names are not essential here. Also, I don't think youth development should be left to the clubs (AIFF may keep a tab on them), and not to AIFF because they are too sloppy. To make it attractive and paying, transfer fee/ sale of players to be introduced.
  • Looks like Armando Colaco has lost all his matches after it was announced he will be the coach of Indian team..is he that nervous??? I am just wondering what will happen later on....

A lot of countries have begun to groom coaches for the long run to take the National team role:

AIFF should appoint a Technical Director from Abroad to identify top Indian Coaches from the I-League that can either:
    >Assist the National Team in a limited capacity
    >Take over the U-23 ,U-21 & U-19 teams

These 'junior' coaches should be sent abroad for training/exposure trips annually in addition to the teams exposure trips

This would ensure we have a pool of talented Coaches in the future to transition into the job

This idea to groom new & young generation of coaches is fantastic. There are many recently retired players who are already into the business. For example khalid Jamil (Mumbai FC), Savio Madera (Asst coach of national team), Jo Paul Ancheri (With MB juniors) Tanumay Basu (Asst to Colm Toll) are doing really well. And Debjit Ghosh is doing a fantastic job with Bhwanipur Club. Back in 2006 Bhwanipur was in fifth division (lowest division) of CFL, now in 2011 they are in Premier division of CFL by wining every respective division. If they can manage to finish with in top four of CFL they will play in I - league 2. Is not it a fantastic job done? And this club has given may forgotten players their life back like Sk Sanjib (TFA product & was very highly rated). So we already have a new set of young coaches, it is high time to launch some grooming program under an experienced coach from admirable background.
