I am really Disappointed with Men's Boxing.
Just Like the Commonwealth games we are loosing every 50-50 bout or for that matter a bout which is supposed to win.

Only 4 of our boxers remain 6 eliminated and the worrying thing is that out of the 6 boxers eliminated only 1 boxer has been eliminated by Either Uzbek or Kazakh opponent i.e Powerhouses of Asian Boxing.

This means we have gone backwards for sure.

Last edition (2010)If we only take Men's boxing(Not Women) we had the highest medals overall in Boxing.

Women Seem to be doing well but Men i am afraid are loosing to low ranked opponents.
1)Manoj Kumar( 8th ranked) lost to an opponent who was not even in the top 20.
2)Mandeep Jangra(12th ranked) lost to 25th ranked opponent.

Only our best of the best boxers seem to survive. No new faces are coming like the case in previous edition.

Only 4 our boxers remain in Mens's section(i think we can pick 1-2 Gold in men's section from Devendro(Has tough Kazakh opponent in his category),Shiva(Has the best chance out of the three),Vikas(tough kazakh opponent as well in his category).Kuldeep will get into the Semi's but will have tough Kazakh opponent in Semi's)but i won't rule out Vikas and Devendro out yet as they are classy boxers.

Keeping my fingers crossed for 3 Golds from the three and 1 Bronze but lets see we still are at quarter finals stage only.

Regarding women Mary and Sarita are the two obvious favourites but stll can't rule the third boxer(POOJA) out just yet.

Some would say if we get 2-3Golds(Then it isnt such a bad performance) but my point is that our already ousted boxers haven't lost to Uzbek 's and Kazakh's (traditional powerhouse). They have lost to boxers mediocre countries(world level) and India To be honest is/was a UPCOMING POWERHOUSE in my opinion so that is what is disappointing.

Regarding the remaining Medal prospects i agree with AshIndia except for slight changes would like to add two for events to watch out for as far as Indian Medal chances as well as Remote chance for an Outside Gold would be there. These events would be:-
    1)Women's 800m(Medal chance for sure,Maybe outside chance for Gold(5-10% maybe)(Darkhorse)
2)Men's 4*400m Relay-Qualified for final with third best time but the time was only .50 of second.
    like EXAMPLE
    A)Saudi Arabia-3:45:09
    B)Japan-3:45:40
    C)India-3:45:59
Something like that so maybe if the day is right they might upset the odds.

Another thing regarding Vikas Gowda(Discuss) is that he has one very Strong Iranian Thrower(Haddadi or Hammidi). He is actually Better than Vikas,if he is present than it will be very difficult for Vikas to win Gold but if he is not there then i think nobody can stop him.
