delhi have already good infra after commonwealth games so it wud be easy to host asian games there only maintainence is req. but if mumbai has to host then major renevation will be require and thus huge money which will be not a gud idea under modi sarkar...current gov. is busy in fullfilling water , electricity and defence issue so that money will be utilised in basic thing not sports and yeah mumbai is very expensive city so if u want ratio then 1:2 for delhi and mumbai

@ArsenalFan700 ; Mumbai do not have Sports infrastructure other then Cricket. Pune has good infra/stadium. reason is that land is very expensive in Mumbai and in the Masterplan, they hardly left any place. They are struggling to build Metro or a second airport, forget about stadium.
Mumbai cannot host even National games-they do not have Sports infrastructure. Andheri Sports Complex is used all the time for TV channels Awards Show. Where will you get land for building stadiums in Mumbai???
The people in power who create so much problem in Cooperage Stadium-that also British built it otherwise it would not have been there. same for Brabourne Stadium.

Use infrastructure for National Games/Asiad/Commonwealth Games -  Other then Delhi, Guwahati, Calcutta, Ranchi, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Trivandrum has good infrastructure for Sports. You also need hotels, international airports, Metro rail before any city is given a chance to host Asian games. Delhi has the ebst infrastructure in Sports in India. Mumbai cannot even host maharashtra state games.

    Chennai should host them.

I agree with @munna219777 72 .... mumbai cant host any major multi-sport events.... may be navi mumbai can host it but for that to happen they need to start from buying the land to construction... but for that to happen we can say we may host Asian games 2027 in Navi mumbai but not at 2019...

In simple words we can say that Mumbai is indian version of Shanghai by making the city as commercialised as possible... so the closest to mumbai would be pune but lacks infrastructure outside of sports to host such big event

@munna219777 Thanks for the reply, I did not know all that.

Personally I would rather see development in stuff like airports and metros rather than stadiums so I will just let that go.

However, one more question, what is the chance that one of the stadiums could be torn down and another replacing it. Like Brabourne Stadium for example.

The university ground in CST could be converted into stadium.... May be WIFA can pull off a deal with them of renovating the ground into a i-league standard stadium at least .. but again the chances of this to happen can only be predicted if they try..

It really depends on who we get in our group. The team looks pretty decent and the pitch in Bangalore is not bad by any means and with the time they have I expect a pretty decent effort.
