I know that despite defeat its a good performance, but let me tell you this team is very talented its unfortunate they make some basic errors due to which they lost crucial matches.
But end of the day we don't have a professional league adding to that is a non-existent grassroots programs. Once let these things come into place we'll be better than China and powerhouse in Basketball. Very optimistic about Indian basketball.
We have been pretty ordinary so far i feel... other than Basketball, squash and wushu where we got 2 medals.. and i though narendra grewal was good enough to win the match like commentator thought but lost s/f.... rest of the games including shooting has been ordinary so far... hoping the sports like boxing, wrestling and athletics change fortune for us
@shankar thats my fear too. This looks like the worst performance in recent years. In recently concluded Commonwealth Games also, it was the worst performance in my memory. The worrying thing is that decline in performance in all the sports. Sports Associations fighting for their recognition and Elections-they get little time to organise Domestic Tournaments. IPL type leagues in different sports may get few sponsors for Indian TV but are they preparing players for real competition???
India's main hope is Athletics especially women, we should be getting medals in double digits. I dont have hopes on wrestling, Asians are very strong in this category.
