as far as state league goes other than the kolkatta club of whomi got no idea rest of the clubs have rested their players from their local league or played those who hadnt been in ISL.. so it would be aropund 45
I-League is 24 games. ISL is 14-17 games. Lets say the average national team player played 20 I-League games and 10-13 ISL games... we so far got a total of 30-33 games. Then you add in 3-5 Federation Cup games to get 33-38 games and then national team to get 35-42 games (Guessing a player gets capped 2-5 times a year) and then state league and @reddevil87 is right... probably more than 50 games a season!
other than kolkatta sides no other teams would care for local leagues to play the national team level players there i guess... so that is case for only hand full of players
Seriously, our football structure is so bad. The whole system is medieval. It needs a complete revamp and unless these people sort out these issues, we can never succeed in world football. We need to have a proper pyramid structure from the grassroots to the national team. The pyramid is inverted as of now. We have decent opportunities at the top but at the grassroots level we suck. It looks bleak. If a proper pyramid structure if shown to the parents, it encourages the parents and they in turn encourage their kids to take up the sport and they also think its a decent option for the kid to take up professional football. This is simply not the case now.
It is not only about number of games. Will the EB and BFC spare National Team players for WCQ? 2 games of AFC Cup they will have to sacrifice as dates are clashing.
