The players who have had the most impact ,were signed before Ashley was signed...

And the year 2 signings like Eugeneson Lyngdoh , Lalthuammawia Ralte and Lalchhuanmawai were all signed initially by Reddy at Shillong Lajong and he brought them in at 1st chance.

for those with good memories, Reddy had sent Eugeneson and Mawia to train with FC Vestjaeland after their 1st I-League season.... clearly he saw something early on in both of them :-?

Reddy should be given U19/23 team given the way you are appreciating his eye for talent

Bengaluru FC’s shrewd transfer dealings help them pull off a coup in ISL auction

Bengaluru FC have cut their costs significantly this season, thanks to the Indian Super League’s (ISL) first ever auction last Friday in Mumbai. They have reaped rewards for signing variable contract with their players and their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the ISL.

With Rino Anto being sold to Atletico de Kolkata for INR 90 lakhs, INR 72.50 lakhs over the base price of INR 17.5, Bengaluru FC have made a profit of INR 4.25 lakhs. As per the deal between Bengaluru FC, the player in question and the ISL, the JSW-owned outfit would stand to earn 30 per cent of the value over the base price, i.e, INR 21.75 lakhs. Bengaluru FC would therefore, earn (21.75 + 17.50 = INR 39.25 lakhs) from the Anto deal which would literally mean that the player would play at no cost and additionally help the club make INR 4.25 lakhs.

Meanwhile, Anto would also benefit from the auction immensely.  He would earn INR 35 lakhs from Bengaluru FC annually and also bag INR 50.75 lakhs (72.50 – 21.75), which is the remaining 70 per cent of the value over the base price. In total, Anto would earn INR 85.75 lakhs for the 2015-16 season.

Similarly in Eugeneson Lyngdoh’s case, his contract with Bengaluru FC was worth INR 55 lakhs, double the base price of the player in the auction – INR 27.5 lakhs. Lyngdoh was bought by FC Pune City for INR 1.05 crores, INR 77.50 lakhs over the base value.  In this case, Bengaluru FC would once again earn 23.25 lakhs – which is 30 per cent of the price over the base value along with INR 27.50 lakhs which comes to INR 48.25 lakhs.

Meanwhile, Lyngdoh stands to benefit INR 54.25 lakhs – which is 70 per cent of the price over the base value. Apart from this, he would also take away 55 lakhs (annual contract) and also partake INR 2.5 lakhs from Bengaluru FC as per the arrangement between them and Lyngdoh, which takes his earnings for the 2015-16 season to INR 1, 11, 75000 which is INR 11, 25000 over the price of what FC Pune City paid for Lyngdoh.

“First and foremost, our intent was to keep the core of the team intact. Secondly, we wanted to ensure that the player gets a fair deal. Also the club has played a massive role in the rise of the player’s stature and hence if the club stands to benefit, why not,” stated Mandar Tamhane, Bengaluru FC’s Chief Technical Officer, who was the brain behind the successful negotiations.

Quarter-Finals of AFC Cup 2015 are on 25th August and 15th  September. Imagine what would have happened if BFC reached QF stage of AFC Cup. They would have to retain their team and cannot make commission on their loans to ISL.
This means that in future, Indian clubs will be asked to lose by the time they reach Round of 16 in AFC Cup because AFC Cup schedule clash with ISL and their priority is to supply players to ISL!!!

There are clauses in the ISL loan agreement if players are playing in AFC Cup knockout stages...
Next year...Indian National team matches won't interfere with ISL...but AFC might...

Same situation. . Just different competition

Good deal by BFC. I guess other clubs should also follow the same. It will reduce the total cost of the team drastically.

Meanwhile, I am sure same thing will happen if BFC loans ISL players such as Sunil Chettri. What is the equation in such deals? @gaffertape

Sunil Chhetri deal is an exception. .hence the asterix next to his name in the ISL spreadsheet.
Robin Singh and Thoi Singh were signed by ISL with a pre-set loan back amount....this way BFC don't have to haggle with other Clubs later in December...as was the case for Sandesh Jhinghan

Eugeneson Lyngdoh , Lalchhuhanmawia , Lalthuammawia Ralte : These players since joining Bengaluru fc have been transformed from average to among the best in the country and all this transformation has taken place in one year , its not only the one's mentioned here but almost every player at Bengaluru has exceeded expectations.

Ralte : Was a decent keeper at Lajong but lost his place to Vinay Singh who wasn't that great either.

Lalchhuhanmawia : Again one of the Lajong players , while he was playing for Lajong who would have thought he would go on to represent the country. He to was an average player at Lajong IMO.

Eugeneson : One of the Shillong players once again , his performances were decent while at Shillong , but it mostly went unnoticed.

Now what is it that Shillong Lajong Failed to do and what has Bengaluru managed to do with them. It shows that players at Lajong or any other club are not that bad rather it is the club which has failed to bring out the best in them. It's not even that Bengaluru has provided them with a bigger platform/Better League(Competition to play in) they are still playing in the same I-League. Had they stayed at Lajong would they have ever reached they level they are at today??
If even 3-4 Indian clubs would have been able to do what Bengaluru has managed with their players , we would have had an Indian NT strong enough atleast to rip apart our South Asian neighbors and compete against some of the 2nd tier Asian nations . With other clubs no where near i feel it won't be long before we see 90% of national team players from Bengaluru itself.

I would love to see some of the AIFF u19 boys getting picked up by Bengaluru so that they may reach their true potential in the coming years.
