Actually my statement about Igor meant that Igor would give deserving youngsters a chance without trying to take credit all the time or making excuses by saying I gave opportunities to youngsters. That's what I liked when he said no player is too young as long as he performs..
Igor Stimac 'happy' with the quality of Indian football players
The India head coach declares he wants senior players in the team to serve as role models for others.
Igor Stimac, the new India head coach, is happy with the quality of the elite Indian football players and hopes to "do great things" together.
Stimac declared he has followed Indian football closely in the last year, and that he was ready to hand chances to "five-six" players who hadn't received many chances of playing for the national team.
Attending his first press conference since taking charge as India's head coach, Stimac, said, "I watched almost all the matches of the last season and have followed the Indian Arrows as well. I'm informed about 5-6 young players who were not playing so much previously and I'm here to give them a chance."
"There are many young players knocking on the door of the senior team and I see a great chance to keep improving the team and get results. I am happy with the quality I have seen and together, we can do great things."
Stimac, who outlined his observations on Indian football and the path ahead, recognised there were many young players "knocking on the door of the senior team."

He said, "I expect the other senior players to be role models in the team as well. So far, I'm quite happy with the players and their behaviour, and I'm sure we'll all work well together."
Voicing his opinions on the domestic leagues in the country, the breeding ground for national players, Stimac said the I-League had tradition that the ISL did not.
Weighing in on the tussle between leagues, Isac Doru, the technical director, said: "The situation of the leagues is not a conflict or war. It's about being together. We need a positive environment and the right quality and quantity of matches. The way the games are played is important."
Because Jhingan is a drunk fuck! Have seen him drunk in Goa in public, some role model indeed. He hangs out a lot at Thalassa when he is in Goa! Last I saw him, he was pissed drunk at his Russian wife's birthday there
Sunil Chhetri is a role model to the younger players, but he will need to fight for his place- Igor Stimac
"ISL is privatised, with invested money. Of course, whoever has invested the money, is expecting to gain returns. I-League has been there for many years. It has a tradition, which is something can't be bought. It will take a hundred years for the ISL to come in that sector. I can see a window, where we can find a solution."
The new coach knows so much about Indian football already.. Looks like he has been a member of this forum for the last 2 years.. Hope he includes Seriton Fernandes next time
